First Families of Wrestling

The "Pioneer Families" of wrestling were both hereditary and kayfabe clans that built the foundation for 21st century sports entertainment. Their intricate and innovative storylines were based on family solidarity that touched the hearts of fans regardless of the families' roles as faces or heels. The traditions they created in forging their legacies helped mold the legends and history of pro wrestling that endure to this day.

The Mc Mahons - The accomplishments of Vince Sr. and Vince Jr. as wrestling promoters and entrepeneurs afford the family enormous weight in claiming top honors. Yet it was Vinnie Mac's decision to don the tights in hedging his bets in the late 90's rivalry between the WWF and WCW that secures the Mc Mahon family legacy. The 'St. Valentine's Day Massacre' match against Steve Austin was one of the most dynamic in history. He continues to enter the ring to fuel the fans' animosity against his heel persona periodically despite being in his 60's. His son Shane has earned enormous respect among fans and wrestlers as a daredevil, most notably in past matches against Kurt Angle and Kane. Daughter Stephanie made her mark in numerous storylines, and even wife Linda participated in an unforgettable spot, piledriven by Kane on a stage before a worldwide audience. Love them or hate them, they'll never be forgotten.
