Federal authorities yesterday smashed a multimillion-dollar heroin ring that sold Long Islanders dope with the help of an ex-Suffolk County cop, his daughter, a Hofstra honors student — and the husband of an NYPD police officer, officials charged.

The so-called Perez Organization — named for alleged boss José “Jay” Perez, 26 — “sprawled from the Dominican Republic to the United States, from Brooklyn to Queens, from Rockville Centre to Farmingville, and points in between,” said US Attorney Loretta Lynch as she announced the indictment of 20 people.

These members came from different backgrounds, but they came together for a common cause: selling poison for profit,” Lynch said of the ring. The group’s Woodhaven, Queens-based leadership supplied Long Island and Queens buyers with heroin, selling nearly $3 million in dope over the past nine months, the FBI charges.

One of Perez’s alleged top heroin shippers, Leonardo “Leo” Lopez, 25, of Queens, is a newlywed whose wife just graduated the NYPD academy in December.

“He’s innocent. He was just hanging out with the wrong people,” insisted his sister, Darlene Lopez.

Also busted on conspiracy charges were retired Suffolk Marine Bureau cop Roland “Pops” Stern, 68, and his daughter, Corey Stern, 37. The dad-daughter duo allegedly worked together to sell Perez’s heroin in the area around their Patchogue home.

“Roland Stern was intercepted on [federal] wiretaps more than 300 times arranging heroin transaction with defendant Wilfred Castillo,” claimed documents in Central Islip, LI, federal court.

Another alleged dealer around her own home, Kathryn Pappas, 21, lives in a wealthy gated community in Jericho, and made Hofstra University’s dean’s list in 2010.

“I love you, Mom,” Pappas wept to her mother, as she was ordered held in lieu of $200,000 bond yesterday.

Cco-defendant Dana Sollecito, 23, allegedly dealt dope out of the parking lot of The Corner Gallery restaurant in Massapequa, where she was a waitress, and which her family once owned.

Seventeen suspects were busted yesterday, with Perez still at large.
