Aim: How can we make the group work most productively?

Do Now: Describe an experience where you worked with other people either in a work place or in a class setting. If it was a successful experience, why so? If not, why?

Procedures:

1. Share our journal entries.

2.Make a list of the reasons why group work didn't succeed or succeeded.

3. Together with the class, make a list of rules that we should abide by when we work together.

4.Suggestions-- cooperation, respect for each other, listen to each other, participation from all the members, good preparation, control of voice, each role functions individually, time control, presentation , etc.

5. Divide the class into groups of four. Introduce each other and clarify the role each member will play.

6. Grading rubric for the group work:
 

• Behavior
• Participation from all the members
• Cooperation
• preparation
• Presentation
• Help each other (all members must understand the task. You must help each other to reach the goal. You sink or swim together).

 

 
 
 

7. Now we will use the first five pages of Act III (page 154-159) of the play to practice the rules we have just made.

• What are the most important changes appeared in the play?
• What new impression do we have of Mrs. Solness based on the section?
• Raise some questions and bring them up for class discussion.

Homework: Read the next 10 pages of act 3(page 159-169). Jot down any  details  in the play you think you would like to share with your group members. Your group's grade depends on your preparation.
