Two encores at Cattle Annie's in Lynchburg, VA!!!
11/1/03

Thanks for this John!

What would have taken us almost 6hrs to get to Lynchburg, took us 8 because we stopped a few times to eat, etc. But we arrived at the Ramada Inn(it's your Momma's stationary LOL) at 2:00P which was right next door to Cattle Annie's. We knew we had to get to the club early so we could order the buffet and be some of the first to get in to the club. When we arrived BH was onstage tuning up, which is always a great thing to experience! Once inside, my friends Toni and Raul grabbed seats for us and Stacy and her friend on chance they might show up. We then headed to the buffet table and while we were there I heard some guys behind us talking and joking around. I turned to look in their direction and saw that it was the guys eating. Henry said, "Cheryl is that you"? I said yes and he said, "Wow, you're a long way from home!"

The opening band Southland came out to perform around 8:30P and they were pretty good actually. It was the weirdest thing though, as one might expect Cattle Annie's is predominantly a country club and of course Southland is a country band but no one line-danced expect for doing the electric slide. LOL There was a little two-stepping but other than that everyone was pop or hip-hop dancing. When Southland concluded their set, a small group of people started to gather at the stage for BH, so naturally that's where Toni and I went. I don't remember what song they opened with nor do I remember all of the songs they did because that trance thing was working and I'd had a couple of drinks.

Suffice it to say they performed Days of America, Brothers of the Southland, Gloryland, So Long, Knoxville Girl, Goodbye Says it All, I'm Not Strong Enough to Say No, I Sure Can Smell the Rain, Postmarked Birmingham ( ), That's Just About Right, Big Guitar, Almost a Memory Now, There You Have It, Down in Flames, Stone by Stone. During the show, Henry introduced Mark who is producing the new album and is producing Rascal Flatts and prior to the show I chatted a bit with little Henry and saw some merchandise I hadn't seen before. I REALLY wanted a jersey but there were only XXL and it would have swallowed me. I could have worn it as a night shirt but sleeping in a BH shirt that no one else can see seems a little sacreligous (sp) to me. LOL The signed drum covers were very cool also!! The guys ROCKED so hard that the crowd wanted them to come out for a third encore but they had to have been exhausted!!! For some reason in CT I couldn't hear Anthony's vocals very clearly but I sure heard them here and all I can say is WOW and he has the sweetest eyes! It's INCREDIBLE looking at people at BH shows because they go nuts!!!! But of course I always remain very sedate. LOL

After the show, I got to meet and chat with Kirk who is very nice and a cutie too! And I chatted a bit with Chris, John, Jimmy (who really is insane! LOL) and Henry. Henry, don't forget what I said about losing too much weight. You're INCREDIBLE just the way you are and I'm glad you're feeling better!!!

Thanks guys for another AWESOME, ENTRANCING, UNFORGETABLE show and for making my friends new fans of yours!!!!! On the way home as we blasted BH on the stereo driving down the highway, they talked about how impressed they were with their first show and wanted to know when they could go with me to see you again!!! The chemistry between these musicians/songwriters is such that I don't know how they can miss that target that Henry spoke of in VA!
