Ch. 4

"Kevin, can't we order a pizza instead?" Aaron begged.
I looked down at the creation I had insisted was soup. Maybe the little guy didn't have such a bad idea. "Why don't you just try it first?" He wrinkled his nose. Who was I kidding, anyway? "On second thought, pizza sounds great."
"I want pepperoni," Angel announced.
"No way!" Aaron shouted. "I want cheese!"
"I want vegetarian," BJ said.
Leslie smiled. "You guys decide, anything is fine by me."
Thank God for sweet children. "Listen kids, we'll order one of each, okay?"
"We each get our own pizza?" Aaron beamed.
"Not exactly, kiddo."
BJ grabbed the phone. "I'll call it in."
"Get three mediums," I instructed. "Will one of you go wake up your brother?"
"I will," Aaron volunteered with a smirk.
BJ covered the receiver. "You aren't honestly going to let him to that, are you?"
I glanced at the little boy racing up the stairs. "Why not?"
She shook her head. "You'll see."
Angel began to laugh, then I heard...... BARNEY IS A DINOSAUR...."AH!!!!! Aaron! Get off me!"
"What's he doing?" I asked the eldest daughter.
"Bouncing up and down on Nick's bed while he blasts his Barney cd."
"In other words World War Three is about to begin," I muttered under my breath.
"What's World War Three?" Angel asked in confusion as she followed me up the stairs.
Why do kids ask so many questions? Don't they learn anything in school? I opened Nick's door to see him packing Aaron over his shoulder as the child giggled with pride. He dropped the 8-year-old into my arms. "Here. You deal with him."
Aaron continued to laugh unstoppingly. "Hey, Kevin..."
"Yes Aaron?" I asked through gritted teeth.
"Want me to wake you up in the morning?"
