Captain Terry Hatton
Captain Terry Hatton, appointed November 22, 1980 has previously served as a firefighter with 219 Engine, 105 Truck, Rescue Co. 2, Lieutenant with 4 Truck and Rescue Co. 4, and as Captain of Rescue Co. 1. Son of retired Deputy Chief Kenneth Hatton, Terry rose through the ranks at quick speed. In 1995, Terry was awarded the Holy-Name Society Medal for saving a female trapped in a collapse in Long Island City, Queens. Terry, a lieutenant with Rescue 4 at the time, crawled into a void to save the woman in which a secondary collapse was immeninent. Nicknamed "Doogie Howser" because of his looks and smarts, he was also a true professional. Whenever his groups were in, the members would dub it a "Terry-Tour" because of the activity expected to occur whether it was fires or emergencies, he would display his expertise at operations.
