DISCUSSION GROUPS

VOCABULARY

T he Discussion Group is a very popular feature of the internet, and of course WEB-TV gives you access to this form of modern communication.

T his takes an old Idea, the Bulletin board, and uses it in an electronic form. Say for example you have a question about training Dogs. You could find a group that covers the topic, dogs, and then post your question. Over a matter of hours, or days you will see every reply people have made to your request for information.

It is important to realize that you are posting in a Public forum and that all types of people will see your comments and your e-mail address. You may recieve unwanted spam mail if you post frequently in certain discussion groups. Also you must be aware that most groups are un-moderated and therefore may contain objectionable comments or pictures. Choose your subject carefully.
