IT'S COMING- tomorrow is the day we move
to our new address, MFHP.net, and we are very excited about it.
If you may or may not of noticed, we have not been maintaining
the site as it should be.Ths is becaus we have been testing and
re-testing everything to make sure it works correctly on the
new address. (Note that we are not designing a new site, just
switching URLs) We have also opened a web design buisness, named
MFHP Designs. A lot of our energy has also
gone to that, and the many clients we have. Our goal with the
move is to provide more features than before, and I doubt you'll
be disappointed with some of the new additions!
InCOnSIsTenCY!! SO
FAR, the Mariners season has been one of triumph and failures,
thus we now refer to the Mariners as synonymous with one word,
inconsistency. Despite a winning record and an uncontested hold
over first place in the West, the Mariners should be better,
period. It seems that every game one of two things happen: 1) M's
hardly lose OR 2) they win, and win BIG. An example of
the inconsistency that is troubling fellow fans is the Kansas
City Royals, and their 6 games with the M's. In the first 3 games
series between the two, the Mariners took the Royals and embarrassed
'em in Kansas City, sweeping the series. However, the M's lost
the series to K.C. in Safeco 2-1. (How Could it
Be?) Hopefully, the M's can straighten out their 'due' a
take the division to another level!
Anderson
vs. Meche? Biggest
M's Question.... Who's better, MECHE or ANDERSON. Today, the
Mariners beat the Angels in a pitchers duel (we have those...?)
1-0, after a ...walk of single... in the ninth. Gil Meche, who
started the game, looked very good in seven innings of work,
fanning five and 'scattering' two hits. With 2-3 similar performances,
this forces us to ask will Anderson be as good, or better then
Meche. For those who don't know, Anderson is the baseball's #1
Prospect as a Starting Pitcher in AAA Tacoma. Built like Randy
Johnson (he's scary and tall), Anderson gets up to 98 MPH on
his heater, and his making batter's whiff left and right. With
two great young pitchers, Freddy Garcia and John Halama look
'past their prime!' and Jamie Moyer is an old timer. Let's hope
these guys can carry us into the future.
M's Holding
Strong against Twins The
Mariners pulled of another won last night with a four run 6th
inning. Tom Lampkin's homer as well as some help from the Twins
put the Mariners up for good. Once again, the Mariners look to
be a healthy and stable team, with Moyer coming back in a couple
days and Garcia rapidly improving. Despite losing the series
with the Royals (eww?), the Mariners still have a commanding
lead in the West, now up by 2.5 games. It just seems like we're
the only team that can win, and hopefully it will stay like that!

How
Could It Be...? After a day
off, the Mariners traveled to Kansas City, in what looked to
be an easy series sweep. However, the revamped Royals are coming
back, and beat the Mariners 8-5. This drives us to ask. How Could
It Be? Have the Royals dramatically changed since two weeks ago
when we swept them at Safeco? Maybe they like playin' in KC,
infact yesterdays game had the highest attendance since '89.
Whatever it is, the Ms hope to stop it tomorrow when Aaron Sele
Takes the mound. Sele has been one of the most consistent starters,
and is #1 on the CURRENT depth chart. After KC, the Mariners
move north and play the Twins. Winning 3-4 in this 5 game set
would be a great positive for the team.

Webmaster's
Word
In recent weeks, the
MFHP has been trying to develop a system of creating two types
of recent news. One will be written by us, and will use a combination
of sources and articles. These will be located at the top of
the page, near "The Game" feature of our site. The
second will be the "MFHP Wire." This will be a collection
of every news article, Game Recap, or other publication about
the Mariners. The "MFHP Wire" will be updated everyday,
and will only date back 2-3 days, depending on the amount of
articles.
