"My first year of Little League, I was eight years old. It was Little League Day, and the Mariners were playing the New Yourk Yankees at the Kingdome. We had the worst seats in the house-I believe I got a nose bleed. The play I remember was a young rookie by the name of Ken Griffey, Jr. who ripped a line drive to center, and the Yankees center fielder, Roberto Kelly, dove for the ball. It bounced off the turf and hit Kelly in the face. Junior rounded the bases for an inside-the-park homerun. Truly a great Mariner experience."
