"Jennifer!!! Come back." yelled Nick.
"Does anybody have a quarter?" asked Kayleigh.
"I do" said Joanna.
"Thanks, bye everyone I’m going home." She said as she walked off.
"Oh no, what have I done?" asked Brian.
"A lot" said Kierstin as she got up to throw her garbage away. By now everyone had left except, for those riding in Brian’s car.
~Outside at the Car~
"Jenn" yelled Joanna. They could not find Jenn anywhere. Nick was getting really worried and his eyes were starting to burn because he was holding back his tears.
"Nick, we’ll find her," said Howie comfortingly.
"Why did Brian have to say that. I mean all she did was ask a question. Why is he acting like this." Asked Nick.
"I don’t know Nicky boy, but we’ll find her." With that Nick began to bawl. Jenn was the only one who called him Nicky.
"There she is…" said Joanna. With that Nick looked up and saw Jenn running for their car. Nick started running towards her. When they met they hugged. Nick looked down and noticed that she was crying.
"Jenn, baby what’s the matter. Are you crying because of Brian?" he asked.
"No Nick, I’m not"
"What happened?" he asked, now getting concerned.
"I’m so glad, I’m with you Nick…" she sobbed.
"Baby, please tell me what’s wrong." He asked.
"Well, I went into the bathroom. When I went into the stall, there was a guy in there and he forced himself on top of me. He wouldn’t stop kissing me. Thank god I got away before he went any further. I was so scared. I didn’t think I would ever see you again, Nick." She said. For the first time Nick took a good look at her and saw that the shoulder of her shirt was ripped and she had a cut on her leg.
"Oh my god we have to get you to the police station and the doctor." He said.
"Please Nick…. No." she cried. "I just want you to hold me, please?"
"Okay, if that’s what you want." They went over and joined Kevin, Kim, Howie, and Joanna. They were all in the car, Joanna being on Howie’s lap. Nick went around to the other side of the car and opened Jenn’s door. Then he got in. Kevin was about to say something when Nick gave him that if-you-dare-I-will-kill-you look, and he decided not to. They arrived at Nick’s house about 15 minutes later and Nick told BJ what had happened, and to take Jenn upstairs.
While BJ was upstairs with her, Nick told everyone including his mom about Jenn’s run in at the mall.
"Oh man, Nick." Said Howie.
"Why did she have to go through this? Why did it have to be her? Just to think, what would I do without her? I love her with all of my heart, I couldn’t stand to lose her." He said crying the whole time.
"Oh Nick," said Jane. "Try to be strong. If she sees you being strong, she will eventually get better over time. Be strong for her."
"Thanks, mom I’m going to go talk to her." He said heading upstairs. Nick got upstairs and ran into BJ.
"How is she?" he asked.
"She doing pretty good. I bet she’d like to see you." said BJ.
"Thanks Beej." Said Nick as he embraced his sister.
"Hey, your my big bro." She said laughing.
"Jenn?" Nick asked as he knocked on the door.
"Come in." she said.
"Hey," he said.
"Hey Nicky." Boy did he love to hear her say his name like that.
"Are you okay baby?" he asked.
"I’ll be okay." She said.
"Come on." He said as he helped her up and led him into his room so she could lay down. They both laid down on the bed. Nick put his arms around Jenn and they both fell sound asleep.
~Back Downstairs~
"Kim, it’s Kierstin." Yelled Jane.
"Coming," she said letting go of Kevin reluctantly.
"Yo Keirs, what’s up?"
"Why are you over at Nick’s so late?" Kim then explained to her sister about what happened to Jenn that night after she ran off.
"Oh my god," she replied. "I’m coming right over. I might be bringing people with me." with that the phone went dead.
"Great.." she said as she put the phone down.
"Guys, Keirs and the gang are coming over." she said.
When Kim was on the phone Nick had woken up.
"This is all Brian’s fault." Said Nick.
"Why?" asked Jane.
"If he hadn’t been such a jerk to her she wouldn’t of run off like that." Said Nick angrily. Just then, the doorbell rang.
"I’ll get it." Said Kevin
"Hey Kev." Said AJ.
"Come in," he replied pulling the door open further.
"Nick,…" started Brian.
"Don’t talk to me" said Nick.
"Come on…" he said.
"Nickolas.., there is no need for this." Said Jane.
"Mom, if he hadn’t been such an asshole, then she wouldn’t of run away into the bathroom." Scowled Nick.
"Watch your language young man…" she snapped at him. Nick walked away. On his way up the stairs he pushed Brian to the ground. Brian got up slowly.
"Nick."
"What?!?" he asked snottily. Then Nick turned around and got……
