The next morning I woke up at eight thirty and got dressed and ate breakfast. When I was done it was nine thirty. I went down stairs and told my brother Jake that Nick had a sister who was thirteen. He really wasn’t into girls that much and I really noticed when he shrugged off my comment. "Jenn, honey we are going out we should be home around ten o’clock tonight." Said my mom as she entered the room.
"Where are you going?" I asked suspiciously.
"We were invited to a party at the church, by the Carter’s, do you have a problem with that?" she asked.
"No, I was just wondering, bye" I said. When they left it was nine forty-five and my mom had told me that the whole Carter family would be coming over. I was kind of glad because I had wanted to meet Nick’s sister yesterday. Jason was more excited, then I was about this and I knew because he was walking around the house singing and he only did this if what he was thinking about a girl. All of the sudden there was a knock at the door. When I opened it, I saw a slim girl about 5’5" standing at the door with Angel. I assumed that this was Nick’s sixteen year old sister.
"Hi, I’m BJ." She said "Nick said that Aaron and Leslie, and him would be over shortly they were in the middle of a race."
"Okay, I’m Jenn" I said
"Oh, yeah I know I’ve heard a lot about you from my brothers and Angel but not as much as from the boys." She said as she stepped inside the house.
"I hope they were good things" I said as I closed the door behind them.
"Yes they were really good things, except for one thing." She answered.
I started to get nervous and asked, "what did they say?"
"Well, it was Nick," she said as she started to laugh. "he said that you beat him when you guys were playing Nintendo and he said he’s going to get you back and kick your butt next time."
I started laughing. So did Angel. Then there was another knock on the door. Come in I called from the couch. When Nick came in we were still laughing and so hard in fact that Nick started laughing at us just because we were laughing. I stopped immediately afterwards.
"Hey" I said as I had recovered from my laughing spaz.
"Hi" said Nick but he never said a word about why we were laughing.
"Scott, Emily, Jake, J" I shouted "Come down here please." All of the sudden it sounded like there were elephants coming down the stairs. I introduced my family to Nick’s. Jason went over to BJ and kissed her on the hand. Scott reacted by ooohing and singing J and BJ sitting in a tree. Everyone laughed. I asked everyone if they wanted to go swimming. We all agreed. I told them to go get ready and that I had to call a friend to see if she wanted to come too.
"Hey, Jess this is Jenn do you want to come swimming with me and the new neighbors that I met yesterday?" I asked.
"Sure, I will be over in a few. Bye"
"Buh Bye!" I said in my six year old voice.
"Can I use the phone?" Nick asked.
"Sure"
"Do you mind if I invite a few of my friends over I told them all about you last night."
"Sure go ahead I don’t mind."
"Thanks" he said and with that he kissed me on the cheek.
"Your Welcome." I replied a little stunned and just then the door flew open and I knew right away that it was Jess. I took her outside and introduced her to everybody I waited until Nick got off the phone and then introduced Jess to him.
"Hi" said Nick
"Hey" she replied back.
"Come on guys no mushy stuff." Then I heard a car door slam and remembered that Nick had invited his four friends over. "Jenn, Jess, I would like you to meet AJ, Brian, Kevin, and Howie." Said Nick
"Hi" they all said.
"Wazzup Nick?" asked AJ who I seemed to take a liking to. I pulled Jess over to the side and we sat down on the sun chairs. "Who do you like the best?" I asked her.
"Well them all but I like Nick" she said. The words seemed to flow out of her mouth like they were meant to come from there. "What about you?" she asked in reply.
"I think I like AJ and Nick" I whispered as I saw the guys approaching.
"Come here" said Nick.
"What?" I asked as I got near him. All of the sudden he picked me up and threw me in the pool.
"What was that for" I sputtered. He didn’t answer.
"Well, if you aren’t going to answer me then this means war." I said as I hopped out of the pool. I finally reached him and tackled him to the ground.
"Tell me, damn it!" I shouted as the others laughed at us. I started to tickle him and he said he would tell me.
He whispered in my ear "AJ wanted to see if your top would pop off, so he dared me to throw you in." he laughed.
"Nick" said AJ I could every word that followed this.
"You didn’t tell her really did you man?"
"Sorry AJ, she tickled me."
"Oh, I’m never telling you nothing ever again." He said. Then their voices got quieter and I didn’t here the rest.
I walked back over to the pool and jumped in. Jess smiled and followed me. I heard laughing and I turned around to see Emily and Aaron flirting.
"Nick, come here quick" I shouted. "BJ come here too."
"What?" they both asked at the same time. I pointed to Emily and Aaron. "Nick, do you teach him his flirting techniques?" I asked.
"Nope, that’s AJ’s job" he replied.
"Oh, I wonder if they will kiss?" asked BJ still and shock at her little brothers’ behavior.
"I don’t know but that would be weird you know what I mean? Ten year olds kissing! That is a freaky thing to think about."
"Jenn we are going to my clubhouse" said Emily
"Okay" I said. "You be good"
"I will" she replied.
"Let’s spy on them" suggested Nick.
"Okay" relied everyone and they all followed me on tip toe to the clubhouse when we got there Emily kissed Aaron. Aaron pulled away.
"Whoa, that was close" said Nick quietly.
"Go away" he yelled.
"Nick so that is what you teach your little brother" I said as I started to laugh again. I went back and laid down on a sun chair. All of the sudden AJ came over and started kissing me. I pushed him away but he wouldn’t get off. Nick pulled him off for me I think he might have been a little jealous. "AJ what the fuck was that?" I asked.
"Oh, I’m sorry. I just had to try Nick said that you were good." He replied.
"What?!?" I asked a little confused.
"The other night at Nick’s house he kissed you right?"
"Yes" I replied.
"Well, I had to see if he was right when he said that you were a good kisser." Said AJ looking at the ground.
"Leave me alone both of you." I said furiously.
"Wait, I didn’t do nothing" argued Nick.
"Well let me tell you, if you didn’t tell AJ I was a good kisser then he wouldn’t of wanted to try that. Am I correct?
"Yes" he replied and they both walked away.
