C'est Moi!

Ok, smark alecs... I'm the one standing NEXT to the horse. Let’s get the entirely gratuitous bio over with.

Age: I started counting backwards once I hit 30, so who knows as this point. After all, it's just a number, isn't it? My niece likes to joke that one day she's going to be older than me.

Place of Birth: New York City (like that salsa)

Job: I get to push papers at an internationally known medical facility. Whee!

Height: 5'7"
Weight: Fluctuates *sigh*

Eyes: Brown
Hair: Red (this month)

Number of tattoos: 2 (and counting - want more dammmit!)

Number of piercings aside from the usual earlobe: Only 1 (a cartilage piercing in my upper left ear. Nothing below the neck.)

Hobbies: Too damn many, but right now the big ones are horseback riding, travel, writing, anime, and bitching about the government.

Politics: Liberal Democrat - though the longer Bush is in the White House, the further left I shift. By the time he's out of office, I'm going to be Chè leading the revolution!

Religion: Wiccan (with a little Buddhist tossed in)

Favorite Music: Like a whole lot of things. Everything from opera to metal. Not a huge rap fan though there are a few acts that I do enjoy. Cannot stand bubblegum pop crap or boy bands. Metallica & other metal bands are my angry music. Have to admit a weakness for Abba, though. (hangs head in shame)

Favorite TV shows: "Law & Order" (all of them), "No Reservations" (Anthony Boudain's show on the Travel Channel), anything on MSNBC, educational documentaries about natural disasters & The Food Network (or as I call it, Food Porn).

Favorite Book Ever Read: A toss-up between "The Belgariad Saga" by David Eddings and "War & Peace" by Tolstoy. I never get tired of reading either of them.

Worst Book Ever Read: "The Silmarillion". I loved reading the Lord of the Rings novels, but this one was like wading through mud. I picked it up, put it down for a few months, then tried no fewer than five times to get through it. I don't think I ever really finished it.

Favorite Movies: "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, the original "Star Wars" trilogy, "Brokeback Mountain", "House of the Flying Daggers" (gorgeous Chinese art house film), and "Syriana".

Worse Movie Ever Sat Through: Oh, too many to list... The sad thing is that a few of them I actually paid to see in a theater and then spent the evening wanting to scrub at my eyeballs with a Brillo pad. Worst in recent memory was "Memoirs of a Geisha". Not a good movie for anyone who knows anything at all about Japan or geisha because you sit there picking it apart.

Favorite Guilty Pleasure Movie: "Wet Hot American Summer". It's silly, it's raunchy, it's absurd and I always wet my pants laughing through it. Besides, I get to watch Chris Meloni hump a fridge.

Favorite Foods: Really, really good dark chocolate, Thai, Japanese, peaches, bison, chili, Serrano jamòn and really good tea.

Foods That I Absolutely Can't Stand: Brussel Sprouts, anything with more than 4-legs and avocado. I also cannot stand the smell of cabbage cooking. Blech!

Favorite Places that I Have Visited: New Orleans, Ireland, Monterey Bay, Dallas, Quebec & Spain.

Places That I Want to Visit: My goal is to visit every continent at least once in my lifetime, so there are quite a few. Doing Antarctica is going to take some special effort. *scratches head*

Favorite Anime: Weiss Kreuz, Gundam Wing, Gatchaman, Saiyuki, Yami No Matsuei, Full Metal Alchemist.

Philosophy on Friendship: Better to have a few real friends that you would trust with your life, your cat, your money and your lover than a big crowd that just feeds your ego.

Things That I Am Proud Of: My sense of adventure & independence. My ability to do what I want regardless of what others might think. My willingness to have a good time even if I momentarily look silly.

Things That I Am Not So Proud Of: Trusting people that didn't deserve my trust. Holding on to grudges like a pit bull. Not always being willing to forgive and forget - I can forgive sometimes but I NEVER forget. That's the Russian in me.

Best Moments In Life So Far: : Hmmm… several to pick from. Winning best in show for a costume that I made for a competition. Watching the sunrise on Mallorca. Galloping at full tilt over a hilly trail in Ireland. Hanging out with one of my best buds on the forward deck of a cruise ship watching the ocean.

Worst Moments In Life So Far: September 11, 2001. No question about it, nothing comes close.

Silliest Things I've Ever Done That I don't Regret: There are several. I kissed a donkey in Spain (and got head-butted for it). I flashed my breasts on Bourbon Street in New Orleans for beads from a drunk college student (which I still have). And I drank an entire bottle of sake at my birthday party last year.

Eventual Goals In Life: To see the world. To own a couple of horses of my own. And to leave the city, buy a farm and raise goats to make cheese. (seriously)
