(AP)A jury in an unusual medical malpractice case came back after deliberating for less than 1 hour with a finding of not guilty against Dr. Mohammed Mohoud of South Shore University Hospital in Valley Stream, NY.

The plaintiff, Mrs. Marilyn Schwartz of Bayside, NY entered South Shore Hospital last August to have her left leg amputated due to complications of an undisclosed illness. Dr. Mohoud accidentally amputated the right leg. After discovering his mistake Dr. Mahoud then proceeded to amputate Mrs. Schwartz' left leg as it was still in bad condition.

Foreman of the jury, Mr. Steven Johnson of Levittown, NY stated they had no other choice than to award no damages to Mrs. Schwartz. Click here for the jury's reasons.
