The Poems
Lost Love
I saw you yesterday
But, when your eyes Your face
was empty I
find it so hard You changed me
around. How can
it be over?
Your eyes are cold!
and the sight of
you,
as always,
gladdened my heart.
looked into mine;
my joy
took flight in panic.
of the smile I knew.
Mouth
drawn;
you just looked through me.
to think of you
as
gone~~~
out of my life.
Taught me, again, to laugh.
To
gamble
on life's roulette wheel.
Surely I've more to learn?
And you have more to teach?
And yet~~~
Your face is
blank.
And I~~~
MUST start over
again!
Why is it I can't Why can't I tell
you My mind churns I would tell
you I would tell you That your kiss I would tell you Of how my heart I
would tell you
open my mouth
and
tell you
how I feel?
of the difference
you've made
in
my life?
over and
over
the things I would say.
If I could
only find my voice.
how safe
and protected
I feel in
your arms.
that I love
the way your hair
curls around my
finger.
is the
sweetest
I've ever known.
That your
touch
is the gentlest;
the most
tender.
of the warm
glow
that spreads through me
at the
sight of you.
skips a
beat
at the sound
of your laugh.
oh, so many things;
if
only~~~
I could find
my
voice!
Today, I
need you as I've Today, I am naked and
vulnerable Today, I am full of pain and sorrow Today, I am reminded of how I am old
before my time. I've
seen indifference I've watched love die by
inches I've
watched respect I've written
volumes of warnings I'm
covered with the scars, And today, I
need your eyes
never needed anyone
before.
Today, I bleed from a thousand
wounds
and need your body
pressed close
to mine
to squelch the tide of
blood.
and I need your arms to cover
my nakedness
and your strength to protect
me.
and I need your words
to soothe my spirit.
unsure
things are in this life,
and I need your
love
to calm my troubled brow.
I've watched for eons
the pain man inflicts on others.
Watched
how greed and desire
drive lies, like
nails,
into the souls of others.
of such
magnitude
that the world was flooded
to
stop it's spread.
until all that's left
is a bit
of dust
in the palm of the hand.
crumble into the black
void
of nothingness!
that no one heeds.
I've shouted with the force of
hurricanes,
yet;no one heard.
a lifetime of
living
can inflict on one.
looking intently into
mine;
to tell me, you see
only
love!
Your anger, flares up so easily I find
myself alienated and frightened. Your anger very
effectively Why is it so neccessary Oh
god, I love you so!
and
scorches everything in its path.
Whether
you mean to burn me, or not, hardly
matters;
as it happens anyway.
And, you
don't seem to notice;
and that scares me
even more!
pushes me from you.
And, if
you lose me now~~~
there can be NO other
reason.
for you
to rage at everything,
big and small?
Can you not see
what it does to me?
But, I cannot
handle
this part of your
nature.
Please, please, learn
to
control your temper.
Lest you burn me to
cinders!
Oh, to be a child again. To lay my troubles at your
feet, I am
broken beyond repair. Pick me up and mend
me.
To be embraced by
your warmth,
and soothed by words
of
comfort.
and have them kissed away
one by
one, as if
they were never there.
Forgotten and
unloved~~~
Discarded, like the toys
in
Grandma's attic.
Make me whole again.
Dust me off
and fix me.
So, I can live again!
