Dave Schneider is Troop 320's newest Eagle Scout. He passed his council board of review on December 29, 1998. Dave is 17 and is still active in the troop.
On April 15, 1993 Dave graduated from Cub Scouts and joined Troop 320. He
earned the First Class rank in just over a year after joining Boy Scouts. Dave
continued to advance in the scouting program until he earned the rank of Eagle
Scout on December 29, 1998.
For his Eagle project Dave cleaned up a marsh grass
area in Beatty Point Park in Greece, New York. This involved the clearing of
trees and shrubs that had been growing in the marsh grass. Using the brush
collected from the shrubs Dave, and other scouts helping on his Eagle project, built brush piles for the small mammals that lived
in the area.
Dave has also earned many other awards within the troop. Some of these awards are
Order of the Arrow (an honorary camping society), the 50 miler award, and the
Historic Trails Award.
Dave plans to stay active within the troop for the duration of his time as a
scout. After he graduates from high school, Dave plans to go on to college to earn a
degree in Aeronautical / Aerospace engineering.
