Stephen Baldwin portrays the comical and carefree William (Buffalo Bill) Cody before he becomes a western legend. Overly self-confident yet undeniably savvy, Cody is quick with a joke or wild sceme, and possesses an uncanny marksman's eye.

Raised in Massapequa, NY on Long Island, Baldwin is the youngest of four brothers, actors William (Billy), Alec and Daniel, and two sisters. His naturally outgoing and charismatic personality led him to discover acting while in high school, where he was considered "a cutup and a ham." Further inspired by the success of his older brother Alec, he began to seriously pursue acting when he enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He later continued his studies at the Herbert Berghof Studio.

Baldwin's first Off-Broadway theater role was in "Out in America," co-starring Darryl Hannah. His television credits include : the PBS specials "The Prodigious Hickey," "The Return of Hickey," and "The Beginning of the Firm"; the ABC television movie "Jury Duty" with Heather Locklear; and guest-starring roles on "Family Ties," "China Beach," "Kate and Allie" and "Kate O'Brien."

His film credits include "Last Exit to Brooklyn," "The Beast," "Homeboy" with Mickey Rourke, and Oliver Stone's "Born on the Fourth of July" with Tom Cruise. During his summer hiatus, Baldwin filmed "The Bridge," a coming-of-age drama also starring Jason Gedrick ("Backdraft") and Josh Charles ("Dead Poets Society"), and produced by Bobby Newmeyer ("Sex, Lies and Videotape") and written by Mike Binder ("Coupe de Ville"). "The Bridge" will have its premiere at the acclaimed Sundance Film Festival.

Baldwin also appeared in two of the four avant-garde 1990 Calvin Klein television campaign ads. "The Young Riders" is his first series.

Baldwin resides in New York with his wife, Kennya, and spends his free time composing and reading poetry. Having recently won first place in the 1990 Celebrity Division at the Long Beach Toyota Grand Prix, Baldwin enjoys speed racing as well as the less dangerous activities of playing billiards and spending time with his family.
