~My
Garden~
(Present)
Last night
before retiring,
I walked in my garden
late.
And, not knowing why; at the time.
I
left open the garden gate.
In the
Dawns warming rays;
My garden starts to
wake.
And I catch a glimpse
Of something furry
by the gate.
She stands
upright.
She sniffs the air.
The allure of
baby carrots
Is almost too much to bear.
She glances
nervously
Over at the tree.
But, the old dog
lies sleeping
Inside, with me.
One, two,
three, four.
Tiny replicas of her.
Standing on
hindfeet,
Ready to hide in her fur.
Have no
fear, little mother.
My garden I'll
share.
Enter with my blessings.
It was planted
with loving care.
