~Paddy~
October
Creeps in on
little cat feet.
Small and warm.
With late
summer flowers.
Fat furry squirrels,
with
big bushy tails,
scurry about.
Too busy for
chatter.
October's
Blustery winds strip the trees
of pale gold
leaves.
While reds and oranges
litter the
ground.
The nights turn cold.
The days drip
grey.
The smell of Autumn,
fills the air.
October
Smells of wet leaves
and woodsmoke.
Of
sunshine drying,
rain soaked wool.
October
Tastes of pumpkin pie.
Apples rosy
red,
and cold, sweet cider
in a paper cup.
October
Sounds of honking geese.
Rustling
leaves,
a crackling fire.
October
Warmth is a mug of cocoa.
A bowl of soup,
and fuzzy slippers.
October
is my child!
