Creeping in on velvety feet
with only the dim glow
of streetlamps
lighting the way.

Touching earth with a gentleness
born from eons of
understanding and loving.

Powder puff soft
and diamond bright.
A love affair
blooms through the night.

Dawn soreads her fingers
through the dark sky;
with light slivers
of mauve and pink.

Old Sol wakens,
stretches and yawns.
Turns up the thermostat
and begins to glow.

Winter has arrived,
without pomp or fanfare.
Scattering herself dazzlingly
everywhere.
