Times Like These-- Chapter 6

Michelle came back up to JC's hotel room and soon they were ready to go swimming. As they traveled down the elevator Michelle's thoughts wandered over to Jessica.

"I hope she really isn't too mad at me. I just really liked the ring." Her stomach was in knots. They had been friends since 3rd grade when Tom Gregory laughed at her and spilled paint on Michelle. Jessica punched him in the eye and told him to back off. Michelle laughed at the memory. The elevator stopped and they walked out. As they made their way into the pool area and put their stuff on the chair. While Michelle was taking her shoe off JC picked her up and threw her into the pool. As Michelle came up JC turned to the door and saw Justin and Jessica standing there, laughing.

"Jess, are you mad at me?" Michelle asked timidly. Jess shook her head.

"No, I'm not. I wasn't mad at you." She sighed in relief.

"Jess, go get your bathing suit and come in." JC stated.

"Umm....no. I'm hungry." Jess replied.

"OH DAMN! THe pizza." Michelle exclaimed. Jessica looked at the clock.

"What time did you order it? I could go pick it up." Jess offered.

"I ordered it 15 minutes ago. I got it at Villegia Pizza." Jessica turned to walk out of the door when she was faced with Chris. She gasped and her heart just lifted. Then she felt dizzy again. What about Justin?

"Oh my god. I can't do this." Jess thought to herself. She felt something more just looking at Chris. She felt like she was going to cry, but held back the tears and smiled at him.

"Hey, how was the ride back with Ghetto queen over here? I'm sorry you had to listen to all her crap. I was a little upset." Chris laughed.

"No, it's OK. Her music didn't make me go deaf, as I thought it would." Chris replied. Justin cut in.

"Jess, I'm going up to change so I don't think I'm going to go with you to pick up the pizza." Jessica sighed.

"OK, but now I need someone to go with me." She expressly looked over at Chris. How would she carry the pizza to the car? 4 Pizza's and soda, there was no way.

"I'll go." Chris stated. She looked at him and her happiness was so obvious that even Justin couldn't deny it. They had it for each other. Justin quietly walked out and up to his room.

Jessica and Chris got into her car and started talking. After a while they were both relieved that there was no romantic feelings. They could be just friends. Chris was both happy for him and Justin. No fighting, no sadness. Justin could be happy with Jessica.

Once Justin was in his room he felt the worst stomach ache he had ever felt in his life. He was so upset about Jessica he ran to the bathroom threw up. After he came out tears just poured down his face. He layed down in the dark and thought about not having Jess in his life.

" Are you nuts? I've known her 7 hours. This is ridiculous. Love at first site does not exist. I hardly even know her, she hardly knows me, we might hate each other a couple of dates down the road." Still, his heart always said no. He soon fell asleep and was awoken by Jess' lips on his.

"Hey, Chris let me in your room. He met a girl at the pizza place and took her back to his room...naughty." Justin smiled. For some reason he didn't think Jessica liked Chris anymore. This made him feel elated. Justin just sat up and kissed her more. Needless to say, they didn't eat that night.
