Satisfy You: Chapter 5

On the day of the concert, Kaycie and Ashley spent all day deciding what to wear. They were so alike, that they frequently picked out the same outfit, which caused many a fight. After fighting for about 3 hours on who was going to wear what, they were all set to go.

"Don't forget the tickets K." Ashley thought she always had to remind Kaycie of what she had to do. This was ironic considering Ashley was always the forgetful one and that is why Kaycie took control of things. Kaycie just looked over at Ashley and gave a "Leave Me Alone" look. This was always effective in shutting Ashley up.

Ashley grabbed the dorm keys, shut off the lights and locked up. As they were making their way down the hall they over heard two other girls talking about tonight's concert. After listening for a little while they found out that their seats sucked, this was sad because they were actually big fans of the Backstreet Boys. Kaycie looked over at Ashley. Ashley, knowing what Kaycie wanted to do just shook her head.

"Oh no Kay, we are NOT giving those girls our tickets. I want to see and hook up with Brian tonight and THEY are not going to get in my way." Ashley had ended that thought with one quick statement. She was proud of herself. Kaycie still felt bad until she went back and again listened in on the conversation.

"I hope to get with Nick tonight." One girl said. Kaycie mumbled something under her breath.

“What did you say K?” Ashley purposely tried to annoy Kaycie with this question. She knew K did not want to answer it.

“Nothing.”

“No, tell me what you said.”

“I just said that she better think again.” Ashley started to laugh hysterically.

“Dude, what about Jason the “love of your life”? Wait, or was that Josh, or maybe it was Derek? Anyway, you switch whom you love too much. You need to be deticated.” Ashley always liked to lecture Kaycie on her decision making. Kaycie knew that this was true though, she wanted every guy that crossed her path. She wanted to find one person to be with, but there were so many possibilities why shortchange herself!

The cold Boston air hit their faces like a ton of bricks as they left the building. Kaycie gasped as the coldness of the air set in.

“God damn it is cold out. It is March, not December. What is up with this?” Ashley nodded in agreement. They wrapped themselves tighter with their coats and ran to the car. Of course, it took Ashley what seemed like 10 minutes to open the car. As soon as they got in, they turned on the heat and the radio.

“Hmm…let’s see what’s on.” Ashley said as they fumbled with the radio buttons.

“No…No…Hell No…No…Hmm, Backstreet Boys, YES!” Kaycie laughed at her friend. All of a sudden, her love for the Backstreet Boys has grown. They sang along to “Larger Than Life” and of course, Kaycie rolled down the windows, although it was 9 degrees out, and let everyone hear her sing. Fortunately Ashley had a window lock on her side and closed her window.

“Dude, it’s freakin’ cold out, get a grip.” Kaycie just slumped back in her seat, sad that she could no longer scream out the window.

It took about half an hour to get to the Fleet Center, but once they were there they parked and got to their seats rather quickly. The stadium was packed with teenyboppers and parents. There was not a big group of college kids there, but it was not a surprise to either Kaycie or Ashley. They put on their VIP backstage passes around their necks. Ashley laughed to herself. “I am going to be the envy of every 12 year old in here, I don’t know why…but it feels so good.” A tap on her shoulder interrupted her thoughts. She turned around to face a big, muscular guy standing about 6 feet 5 inches. Needless to say, Ashley was a little scared.

“Could you and Kaycie come with me please?” The guy asked, much to Ashley’s surprise, rather politely.

“How did you know my friends name? And speaking of, where is Kaycie?” Ashley looked around for her friend, she was no where to be found.

“Your friend is really cool. She was talking to me earlier while you seemed to be in another world. She’s hilarious.” The guard looked around and spotted Kaycie. “I think she’s over there, she must have just wandered away from me.”

“OK, where are we going?” Ashley asked suspiciously. She was very cautious of what they liked to call a “PRS”, Possible Rape Situation. Since they had nothing to do most of their evenings, they liked to curl up and watch the News shows, as in, Dateline, 20/20, Primetime and 48 Hours. This messed them up in the head. They were always questioning people’s motives and they kept Mace with them at all times. She walked up to Kaycie and grabbed her back to the bodyguard.

“If I get hurt, you are too.” Ashley warned. Kaycie just laughed at Ashley’s seriousness.

“You girls ready to go?” The bodyguard asked. Kaycie let Ashley know that the guard’s name was Devon. They walked past all the little girls with signs. Kaycie was in awe. “How could one be in love with someone they don’t know?” She thought. That is until they rounded the corner and she saw Nick. He was checking his mic. Nick looked up and saw Kaycie standing there, she quickly pretended she just skimmed over him. Nick waved to her and smiled. “Oh my god I was right, this guy IS a piece of ass.” She thought to herself. She looked over at Ashley who was frantically skimming the room for Brian. Her eyes rested on him, but he was hugging a tall blond woman. “Probably an older, much older, fan.” She reasoned. As the blond walked away, Brian saw Ashley and Kaycie.

“Hey guys, glad you made it. I thought with all your college stuff that you wouldn’t be able to.” Brian said as he walked over to her.

“Well, you guys made your concert very convenient for us. We just wrapped up exams and now we have spring break for about a week and a half.” Ashley was so relieved that school was out. She needed this break. Too much work and no relaxation. All Kaycie and Ashley did was study and they rarely had time for friends. She sighed and continued staring at Brian.

As Ashley and Brian both blatantly gawked at one another, both Nick and Kaycie noticed it and let out a small chuckle at the same time.

“Looks like your friend is a little happy to see my friend.” Kaycie said with a laugh. She had never seed Ashley so worked up over a guy before. This was new to her.

“Yea, well, same goes for your friend. Was she looking as forward to it as Brian was?” Kaycie just stared at him.

“Are you kidding? She was wigging out. ‘Brian this, Brian that.’ It kind of got old after a while.” Nick completely understood. He had the same feelings for Ashley but did not talk about her constantly, he just thought about her. Nick interrupted Ashley’s and Brian’s conversation.

“Bri, we really have to get going. Would you ladies like to hang out after the show?” Nick asked. “Please say yes, Please say Yes, Please say yes.” Nick thought to himself.

“Yes.” They both said simultaneously. Nick and Brian just smiled at one another.

They could tell they were in for some fun.

During the concert Ashley was a little confused, Brian was looking over at that blond they saw earlier. "I wonder why he keeps looking at her." She wondered. When she unglued her eyes at Brian, she noticed someone else staring at her. AJ. From that moment on all she could do was look at him, not Brian. Now she felt bad, Brian was so nice and here she was looking at AJ. She looked back up and Brian, and then AJ. AJ was winking at her and Brian wasn't. She smiled at AJ and waved. He pointed to her pass and mouthed "I'll see you later." And he did.
