Simple Holiday Pins
An easy Cub Scout craft or group craft.
This project is rated EASY to do.
What You Need:
- Christmas tinsel
- Scissors
- Holiday sticker
- Masking tape
How To Make It:
Cut then loop some Christmas tinsel into a small 1
1 ½" circle.
Place an appropriate sticker over the tinsel, i.e.
flag for Flag Day, bunny for Easter, Santa for
Christmas, witch for Halloween, etc.
Add a looped piece of masking tape (sticky side out)
to the back for a quick pin.
Stained Glass Windows
This is a simple craft idea that is made from
cardboard and cellophane. It is a great activity if
you only have a limited time, and allows maximum
creativity from the children. This idea is cheap, and
just as effective as the real thing. I know that kits
are available that use plastic pieces, however this
method allows children to invent their own patterns,
is safer, and if you make a mistake the consequences
are not as drastic.
Materials:
- Black cardboard,
- Cellophane (assorted colours)
- Glue
- Scissors (or sharp knife depending on age group)
- Pen or pencils (a yellow pencil can be easily
seen on black cardboard).
Method:
Draw a simple shape that you would like to be made
that the shapes are joined by a piece of cardboard
so that when you cut the pieces out it does not
fall apart.
Cover each shape with the desired colour of
cellophane and glue to the back of the cardboard.
(Note: rim edges so that they do not overlap into
the other shapes)
Continue until all shapes are covered.
