Craft's
Whopper Bubbles
Equipment:
- Bubble solution either homemade or purchased
- Deli containers
Here is a bubble solution:
- 1/2 cup dish soap or baby shampoo
- 1 1/2 cups water (though I have used as much as 2
- 1/2 cups and gotten good results.)
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- 1 drop food coloring (optional)
Activity:
Huge bubbles can be made by even small children by
using lightweight deli containers as the hoop.
Cut the bottom of the containers out. This can be
done with a serrated knife, a scissors, or a craft
knife.
Pour bubble solution into a container larger around
than the container.
Hold the deli container's rim, dip it into the
solution and move the container in a large
sweeping motion. You can experiment with the speed
you use, and pausing for just a moment can affect
the size of the bubbles.
This can be an activity to take along to places
where we will be waiting out-of-doors (parade
routes, for instance) or to preschool picnics.
All that is necessary is to carry the bubble
solution in a sealed bowl.
