Lemon Nut bread
- 2 1/4 cups all pourpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup chopped walnuts
- 1 egg beaten
- 2 tsp grated lemon peel
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 3/4 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup melted butter
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a medium bowl,
sift together flour, sugar, baking powder and
salt; set aside. In another bowl, combine
remaining ingredients. Stir well. Stir in dry
ingredients. pour mixture into a greased,
9 x 5 x 3 inch loaf pan. Bake 40 minutes or
until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes
out clean. Makes one loaf.
