EASTER TIPS
Instead of grass in your baskets (yuk, messy
and dangerous for animals and small children),
add a neat T-shirt, Easter napkin, Easter
placemat, get creative.
Hide the eggs for the kids, then let the older
children rehide the eggs .... over and over.
Enjoy your uninterrupted time to fix a special
Easter dinner.
Put small ''real'' decorated Easter eggs into
the large plastic egg candy holders. This way
the eggs will not break and pick up nature stuff
from hiding.
Instead of big chocolate eggs and yuk, give the
kids small stuffed animals.
Instead of loads of sweet, hyper-type candy, give
the kids some movie tickets, gift certificates for
Chuckie Cheese, coupon book (that you create) with
coupons for pizzas, popcorn, sleepovers etc.
Strawberry baskets make great Easter Baskets. Fill
with Easter grass, or let children tear green
construction paper into strips for grass. Decorate
the sides with cotton balls, bunny face with
whiskers, or crepe paper. A pipe cleaner can be
used for a handle.
Some Easter Games You Can Play : )
Toss The Egg Into The Basket Game:
Find an old, rather sizable Easter basket. Also,
get some plastic Easter eggs. The children take
turns tossing the eggs into the basket! (Add some
challenges: the plastic eggs cannot break open,
only get the pink ones in the basket, write
letters on the eggs--the children can only get
the eggs in that have letters in their names).
Math Egg Hunt--Game:
Hide plastic eggs with numbers in them, ranging
from maybe 1 to 5 then, limit the children to how
many they can find, like maybe 6 or something,
then . . . after they're all found, total up the
numbers that are in their eggs and the one with
the highest number wins a prize. I'm going to
have plastic eggs with candy in them too, so that
everybody will end up with something.
Easter Guessing Game:
Every year I take a jar filled with various types
of easter eggs, jelly beans, malted, choclate etc.
I count them as I fill the jar add a $5 bill at
the top and tape it shut. I leave a piece of paper
next to the jar and everyone guesses how many are
in the jar...even grandma & grandpa. The person
who is the closest without going over is the
winner. They win the jar, eggs and the $5. Fun for
all.
Egg Roll Game:
Here is another easter game my children love. We
also do this at our church's childrens egg hunt.
Mark off a start and stop point anywhere from 5
to 10 feet apart. Using a hard boiled egg ( can
be decorated or plain) have the kids down on
hands and knees. Roll the egg across the floor
using only there noses. The first one to the
finish line without touching the egg with their
hands is the grand champion nose roller.
Easter Bunny CottonBall Game:
kind of like pin the tail on the donkey
Supplies Needed:
- Scissors
- Glue
- Cotton Balls
- Tape
- Bunny Face, Ears & Body (pattern below)
Bunny Face
Bunny Ears
Bunny Body
Bunny Tail
Print the Ears and Bunny Face. This Can be a craft
to since the kids can color them..Once you've
printed them out, cut them out... glue the ears
onto face... then glue the face onto the body. Let
this dry... make sure it is set up good.
Cut out the Bunny's tails. On each of the tails
place a little bit of glue, and add a cotton ball.
Allow this to dry really good before you start to
play the game.
When you are ready to play... tape the Easter
Bunny to ... our suggestions... door, wall or
even the fridge works great. Put a piece of tape
on the tails... now you are ready to begin the
game.
Shut your eyes really tight... no fair peeking!
Try to get the tail as close as you can to the
center... little circle. You can even have
points on the different areas of the body...
you can even give points if they get the tail
on the Easter Bunny's nose... hhhaaaachhhoooo!
Have a Great Easter!!!!!
