THE PAWN

THE PAWN ( BEWARE the foot soldier,, sometimes destined for greatness,,value=1)

for EACH pawn,,first move can be either

one 1 or two squares FORWARD ONLY ,thereafter one square

the pawn captures by moving diagonally to the opposing square

and captures the piece

THIS IS CALLED PAWN PROMOTION

when the pawn reaches the 8th rank

it can be exchanged for another piece except for king or pawn

all pawns are included (you could have as many as 8 queens)

you can also choose one of these pieces

HINT::promoting to a queen is not always the best
