Rock'em, Sock'em action is at the heart of "The A-Team," one of the most "explosive" adventure shows of the '80s. The action revolves around Col. John "Hannibal" Smith and his crack team of commandos who are busted while performing a covert mission four days after the end of the Vietnam War. Unable to prove who gave them the orders to rob the Bank of Hanoi, the Team took the fall for the crime and was imprisoned by their own government. The group escaped, only to be relentlessly pursued by the various army officials. The good-guy outlaws keep one step ahead of the military by working as mercenary soldiers for hire, getting into a new and dangerouse enterprise eache week, and always emerging on the side of justice.

The four core-members of the A-Team are Col. "Hannibal" Smith, the crafty leader, B.A. "Bad Attitude" Barracus, the mechanic with a menacing disposition, "Howling Mad" Murdock, the crazed pilot and "Faceman," the charming hustler who can talk his way around any situation. There is much mayhem in every episode, all done in great fun and with an often-cornball sense of humor. The A-Team is always armed to the teeth, and although they routinely engage in gun battles with all manner of baddies, they mysteriously almost never suffer a serious injury. "The A-Team" was a phenomenal success in its early years, and ran in prime time from January of 1983 through June of 1987. The Team traveled in their customized, bulletproof, high-tech black van (with keen red stripe detailing) across the US and to other exotic locations for three years as freelance fugitives. In the fifth season, in an attempt to bolster ratings, the A-Team was captured and began working off their criminal records as government agents. At this time, a new team member was introduced: special effects agent "Dishpan" Frankie.
