A few years ago I took advantage of dynamic geometry and began to explore what I called "Floating Midpoints", whereby I set two points moving in a controlled manner and traced the path of the midpoint between them. (I never did actually get to my goal of taking 3 points and tracing the centroids
In 2013 this was presented at the AMTNYS annual conference, but in Geometer's Sketchpad. It was after that session that I first began exploring with GeoGebra, and I found the GeoGebra approach to be much more natural. I thought GeoGebra was harder to master at first, but that proved to be a misconception, as the program became much easier to master than GSP. The ease with which Geogebra files can be shared via the web more than compensate for the initial struggles.
This particular GeoGebra construction can be found, and downloaded, here.
For younger students I would "turn off" the plotting of the curves, and let the tracing take over.
