“Hello?” her mom said. Obviously Kalle had woken her up.
“Mom? This is Kalle. Jeremy should be coming soon. Are you gonna be ready to meet him?”
“Well, what time is he coming?”
“Nine. That’s in 10 minutes.”
“Yeah, I’ll be ready. Brett will still be sleeping. Just knock on the door before you come in, ok?”
“All right, see ya in a few!”
“Bye.”
Meanwhile, Jeremy was walking to the motel. I hope she isn’t a crazed fan. But, she is cute. I wish she was older. Then maybe I could help her out in getting a spot on Broadway. She might have the potential...he thought.
Now all Kalle had to do was sit and wait. She sat nervously on her bed, and checked her watch every single minute. Finally, she heard a knock at her door. Excited, she ran to the door and pulled it open. Forgeting about the lock, it didn’t open. She pushed it tight again, and unlocked the door. Then finally she pulled it open.
Jeremy stood outside looking more handsome than ever.
“Hi!” she said.
“Hey! Can you go?”
“Sure, but you have to pass inspection. We have to go to my mom’s room next door.”
“Oh, that’s fine. Ready to go?”
“Yep, let’s go.”
Kalle knocked on her mom’s door, and she heard her mom yell at her to come in. She opened the door, surprised to see the room a complete dump and her brother recking it even more.
“Brett! What the hell are you doing?” Kalle yelled. She couldn’t believe Jeremy had to see this. Brett looked up innocently. It was obvious he had just gotten up, but hadn’t wasted any time throwing every item of his suitcase on the floor.
“Wow. Maybe I should come back at a better time,” he said, reading Kalle’s mind.
“No, Jeremy, it’s ok. My mom should be hear somewhere,” she said walking over the clothes laying on the floor. Just then her mom appeared from the bathroom.
“Hi, I’m Molly, Kalle’s mom. You’re Jeremy, right? Kalle sure talks about you a lot, after she saw your show ‘Footloose’. You must have been really great!”
“MOM!” Kalle was so embarrassed!
“Yeah, I guess. Well, is it all right if Kalle comes to my studio? It’s just right down the street, on Montreal Ave.” Jeremy said uncomfortably.
“Sure, but she needs to be back by 7. We have dinner reservations.”
“Ok, great. She’ll be back in plenty of time,” he assured her.
“Fine. Have a nice day Kalle.” her mom said, with a FAKE smile plastered on her face. She could sure try her best to act like an angel when she was really the devil.
“Bye mom,” Kalle said annoyed.
“Bye Kalle, and bye Jeremy,” Brett said, laughing. He just loved to make her life a living hell too.
“C-ya dork,” Kalle said over her shoulder, as they stepped out of the room.
"Sorry about my brother," Kalle said, embarrassed.
"Oh, that's perfectly ok. I definitely know what you're going through!" Jeremy laughed. "I have 2 younger brothers of my own, and they ALWAYS get on my nerves. Especially when I used to bring my girlfriend over to the house."
"Do you still have a girlfriend?" Kalle asked.
"Nah, we had to separate when I went off the NYC. We couldn't stand to be apart for more than a week!" he admitted.
"Oh, that sux. Do you still like her?"
"Oh, sure I do! We didn't separate on bad terms. We just can only be friends for now. I don't think I would be fair to her if I strung her along while I was in NYC.
"Yeah, I see what you mean." Kalle said, "Oh! Do you want to catch the trolley?"
"No, let's just walk and talk. I want to learn some more about you." Jeremy said with a grin. Gosh I like this girl, he thought, but I can't do anything. I love Gwen too much! This is definitely going to be hard...
