"How long does the audition last?" Kalle asked. She was anxious to know exactly what she had to do.
"Well, it depends on how good you are," Jeremy replied. "You have to sing a song, do a reading part, and then have head shots done. It probably takes a half an hour or so."
"And, about that song. What do I have to sing?"
"Well, the director said just to sing one of our songs, that you obviously already know.." Jeremy joked.
"Ha ha funny...but I'm trying out for Ariel, right?" she questioned.
"Yes you are, unless you want to be something else!"
"Nah, just Ariel. Will you sing with me at the audition? I really want to sign 'Almost Paradise again. It felt so right at the studio!"
"Hmm...what are you going to do for me?" he asked slyly..
"Jeremy!!"
"All right, all right. I'll do it! I was just jerking your chain!" he replied as she pinched him in the arm.
"Thank you. Now, if you don't mind, I have to pack and get some sleep. Tomorrow I go home, so I can pack for NYC!" she exclaimed.
"Ok. I'll see you in the morning before you leave. Good night!" he yelled as he walked out the door..
Kalle sighed while she got ready for bed. The only thing she was worried about was school, Colin, all her friends, and especially the play coming up! If she went to NYC for a month, she'd miss opening rehearsals and blow her chance at the lead! But then again, Broadway was a hell of a lot better than center stage at good old MapleGrove High. They were doing 'Little Shop Of Horrors'...and she didn't really like the storyline anyway! She laughed as she turned over and fell asleep.
The next morning she arose to banging on her door.
"Kalle!! Get up, Jeremy's here!" she heard Brett taunting from the hallway.
"Uh...ok. Just a minute!" she cried. Kalle couldn't believe she had overslept. It was nine o'clock and she left at 10..and there were so many arrangements to be made! First she put on her robe, and then she padded to the door in her slippers and pulled open the door.
"Hi, Jeremy..step into my office," she joked, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "We have a lot to discuss."
"Yes, we do. First off, here is your plane ticket for NYC, all expenses paid." he started. "You'll leave at the Airport in Albany and it'll be a 30 minute flight, in your own special jet."
"Great..I've never had my own personal jet before!" Kalle exclaimed!
"Second, here is your script. Make sure you know all of Ariel's lines by the time you get there," he added. "And third, here is a list of stuff you need to know. Where I'll pick you up, where you are staying, the numbers to reach you by...all for your mom of course..fourth, don't let the private jet get to your head" he said with a smirk.
"Hey! Not funny...but thank you so much!" Kalle said while giving him a big hug. "I can't wait!!"
"Well, I've gotta jet myself. My flight leaves in a half an hour. I hafta work, but give me a call before you leave for the city, so I can make sure everything is right, ok?"
"Sure. Thanks again!"
"No problem. I'll see you in a week!" he said, giving her a quick peck on the cheek, and then running out the door.
Wow...one week until my life may change forever, Kalle though as she got her stuff together to make the LONG drive back home to MapleGrove, NY...MapleGrove's star to Broadway's baby..here I come!!
