Membership Information
The Long Beach Fire Department is always looking for people to become Volunteer Firefighters and Medical Technicians. In order to become a member, you must live or work in Long Beach, East Atlantic Beach, or West Atlantic Beach for at least 8 hours per day. As this is a rather strenuous job, applicants are required to be in good physical condition, and applicants may not have any Felony convictions. Also, applicants must possess a valid New York State Driver's Licence. If you meet these requirements, and you are ready for a true challenge, you may pick up an application at Fire Headquarters, located behind City Hall in the Fire Dispatcher's office. Fill out the application in full, and return the application to the Dispatcher on duty. You will be contacted by the Membership Committee regarding dates of interviews and physicals.
