Present Day:
I was sitting in my living room with my fiancee, Ben, watching a movie, when the phone rang. I got up to answer it. My sister was calling me.
"Hey Cassie. Jess and her friend Sara just won Backstreet Boys tickets from the radio station and she told me that she would ide if she was seen at a concert with her mother. So, she asked me if Aunt Cassie could take her. Do you mind?"
"Well, I guess that would be okay. It's not like I have to talk to Brian again."
"Um, Cassie. They're front row seats and backstage passes."
"Oh...um, well, I guess I'll still take them. I'll have to face him eventually."
"Thank you and I'm sorry. Bye."
"Bye Jen."
I hung up the phone then I went back to the living room. Ben mmust have noticed that I was acting different, because he asked me, "Are you OK?"
"Not really, Jen just called me and I have to take my niece, Jess, to a Backstreet Boys concert with her friend. (AN, they're 11 years old) And get this, they have BACKSTAGE PASSES!"
Ben knew all about me and Brian, so he knew why I was pissed off. "I'm sorry, is there anything I can do?" he asked.
"It's OK, it's not like I'm single. I love you, not him." I said.
"I love you too," Ben said before he kissed me.
"Now, let's watch this movie again," I said leaning against Ben.
When the movie ended and hour later, Ben left and I went to bed. But I couldn't sleep. All I could think about was seeing Brian again.
*******************
The next day, Jess and Sara came to my house to get ready for the concert. I was wearing black pants with a light blue tank top. When I came out of my bedroom, my niece got upset becuase her mom told her not to wear anything really nice, and I was.
"Well girls, are you ready to go to this concert?" I asked, just as my phone rang. It was Ben.
"I just wanted to call you and wish you luck, and it'll be alright."
"Thanks Ben, but I have to go now, Jess and Sara are starring me down right now. I love you. Bye."
"Bye Cassie."
I hung up the phone, then the three of us left my house. In the car, all Sara and Jess did was talk about how great this concert was going to be and how they were going to meet famous people. Little did they know, I used to go out with a Backstreet Boy.
"We're here," I said when we got to the concert hall. It was time for me to face Brian after dumping him four yeaes ago.
*******************
Jess, Sara, and I walked to our seats in the front row. As soon as we were there, the two girls started screaming along with every other fan in the concert hall. Then, the concert started. Brian was the first Backstreet Boy out onstage.
All I could think was 'Oh my god, he's going to recognize me!' even though I changed a lot from last time he saw me. My reddish brown hair is longer and I looked totally different, But still, I knew he would see me.
Halfway through the concert, I noticed that he was starring at me. Sara also noticed this and screamed, "OH MY GOD! BRIAN LITTRELL IS STARRING AT MY BEST FRIEND'S AUNT!" I felt like crawling in a hole and never showing my face again.
After that, the concert seemed to last forver, even though it was only another 45 minutes at the most. I knew being backstage would be even worse.
Right after the concert ended, Jess came over to me and said, "It's a good thing we won backstage passes, so Brian can meet you!"
"Yea, he was starring at you so hard, I thought he was going to mess up his lines!" Saea chimed in.
"OOHH, you're so luncky Aunt Cassie!"
I couldn't take it any longer. "Look, I don't need to meet him. Hell, I already know him!" As soon as I said that, I was sorry.
"YOU KNOW BRIAN LITTRELL!! AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME!!!"
"Jessica," I said, calling her by her full name, which she hated. "If you don't shut your mouth right now, I'm never taking you to another concert for the rest of your life! Now come on, let's get this over with."
We were led backstage with a couple other people with backstage passes. When we got there, the first person we saw was Howie.
About 10 minutes later, Kevin, AJ, and Nick came into the room, along with a couple other people. Luckily, no one recognized me yet. I was just standing around, hoping Brian wouldn't come, even though I knew he would.
Then Kevin walked over to me and said, "You look really familiar. Have we met?"
'Shit' I thought to myself. "No, I don't think we have."
"oh, you look like one of Brian's old girlfriends, that all. You don't look like you're enjoying yourself," Kevin siad, not trying to sound rude.
"Not really. I took my niece and her friend here, and they're being a really big pain in the ass right now."
Kevin and I talked for a few more minutes, then he went to the other side of the room. I was looking for the girls, when I suddenly felt a hand on my shoulder.
I turned around and found myself standing face to face with Brian Littrell.
