Authors Note: I know this isn't how you find these things out but I can't say I know how thses things happen.
"Can I help you?" I asked the man.
"Yes, Are you Cassandra Parrison?"
"Yes I am. Who are you?"
"I am James Bachman (Hey, I'm listening to She's so High right now! I don't even know if that's how you spell his last name, but it's the only name I can think of right now :) and I have something to tell you."
"Wait. Not to sound rude or anything, but who are you? I've head your name before, but I don't know who you are."
"I'm sorry. I'm your parents lawyer."
"As soon as he said that, I turned pale. I knew something bad happened to my parents.
"I'm so sorry Miss Parrison, but your parents have been in an accident."
I almost fell down. I felt Brian wrap his arms around me.
The lawyer wasn't finished talking though. "I'm sorry, but your father is dead, but your mother is in the hospital. I'm sorry I have to be the one to tell you this, but you should go to the hospital as soon as you can."
"Thank you Mr. Bahkman," I said. Then I started crying hysterically. I fell to the floor, and immeditately, Brian sat down next to me and held me in his arms.
We were still sitting there when the lawyer left. Ami and Kevin came into the room and Ami sai, "Oh my god! Cassie, are you OK!?"
I shook my head and Brian said softly, "Her parents got into an accident. Her father died and her mother is in the hospital."
Ami and Kevin were both standing there, and Ami was crying silently. I stood up and Brian offered to take me to the hospital.
"You guys can stay here," I told Kevin and Ami. "I'll call you later."
Then Brian drove me to the hospital. When we got there, a nurse showed us to my mother's room. When I saw her, I almost lost it again. She looked awful, and she was asleep.
A couple minutes later, a doctor came into the room. "Hello Miss Parrison. I am Doctor Jones."
"Hi. Please, call me Cassie, and this is my boyfriend, Brian."
Then he said, "I am sorry, but I don't think your mother will survive." I started crying again and Brian hugged me. "She is bleeding internally and we can't stop the bleeding."
Then, the three of us heard a loud beeping noise. More doctors came into the room. One of them pulled the curtain around the bed. Brian and I were standing outside the curtain, when the beeping noise suddenly stopped.
I was sobbing hysterically again because I knew my mother just died. Doctor Jones came out from around the curtain. I looked up at him, and he simply nodded. Now I knew for certain that my mother was dead.
I couldn't take it anymore, and I jumped out of my chair and quickly walked out of the room. I saw Brian run out after me. When I got to the lobby, I turned around and Brian and I just stood there hugging each other.
