I was with Lance checking my mail on the computer and I hoped a good friend of mine would be on. Lance also got online, on his computer.
"I hope he's on today." I said.
"Who?" He asked.
"A friend of mine. I love talking to him."
"I have someone like that, only she's a girl." He explained.
My buddy was on!
Sweet south: hey cutie, what's up?
cutie9684: nothing much, u?
"Oh, just about the same." I heard Lance say.
Sweet south: Oh, just about the same. I screamed and walked over to Lance's screen.
"It's you!!" I yell excitedly.
Everyone came running in.
"What's wrong?" Amanda asks.
"He's my buddy!" I think Chris was about to die laughing. All of us were.
*** Amanda ***
After the excitement of Marta figuring out Lance was her "buddy", Justin had asked me to meet him for dinner in the hotel restaurant. 'Maybe he'll finally tell me what was bothering him in Canada.' I think to myself. 'I need to find J.C. to ask him to keep the rest of the guys away from us at dinner.' I walk into the lobby, and see J.C. and Michelle sitting next to each other on a bench.
*** Michelle ***
As I sat next to J.C. on the bench, I felt really nervous. He just sat there, but every once in a while, he would look at me as though he were going to say something. But, he wouldn't.
"There's Amanda" I say "hey Amanda, what's up?"
"Nothing much," she answers "what are you two up to?"
"Nothing." 'Unfortunately' I think.
"Oh, J.C., could you tell the guys not to bother us at dinner?" Amanda asks. "I really think he's gonna tell me what was bothering him in Canada."
"Sure, whatever." He responds.
"Bye guys," she says, then mouths 'What's his problem?' to me.
'I don't know.' I respond quickly.
The silence is broken a few minutes later by the sound of my pager.
"Sorry, J.C., it's the office. I'll be back in a couple minutes." I say quickly.
"Ok," he responds sadly.
'Now where's the phone,' I think as I search. It was my assistant. She said my ex-boyfriend, Rory, was calling for me.
"Don't tell him where I am, if he calls again."
"All right," she says.
"God, why doesn't he just get it through his head?" I say as I hang up the phone.
"Who?" Lance says from behind me.
"Oh, no one." I say.
"You sure? You didn't sound too happy."
"Ya, it's just some previous problem I'm trying to clear up."
"Well, if you need to talk, I'm here for you," he says as he walks away.
"Thanks." I turned around to J.C. still sitting on the bench.
'Oh, Rory, just leave me alone. I want this thing with J.C. to work out, more than you think.' I think to myself think to myself.
