Directions for the voice mail that has that little blue guy (MyTalky Voiz Mail) you can click on (if you dont want to read this then go more below to where it says P.S.- and read that): Please use the configuration wizard in your menu to test your microphone and speakers. Adjust the settings to your personal needs. You may also want to ask the person you are communicating with to do the same. 2. Check that your microphone and speakers are correctly connected and not reversed. It is important that your microphone and speakers are plugged into your sound card (NOT your modem if you have a voice modem). 3. Verify that your Microphone is on within your operating system: Click on Start-Programs-Accessories-(Windows 95-"Multimedia" OR Windows 98-"Entertainment")-Volume Controls a) Click on Options. Select Properties. Select Recording. b) The microphone should be checked in the list and click OK c) The microphone volume should not be minimized. d) In the box below the volume you will have one of two options, depending on your version. If the option is "mute", make sure the box is not checked; if the option is "select", the box should be checked. 4. Do a Sound Recording test within your operating system: Click on Start-Programs-Accessories-(Windows 95-"Multimedia" OR Windows 98-"Entertainment")- Sound Recorder a) Click on "Record" b) Record something and click "Stop" c) When you click "Play", it should playback the sounds you recorded 5. If you are behind a Firewall or LAN proxy server you may not have a direct Internet presence. This means you may not be able to hear the other caller or they may not hear you(at all) until you configure these settings in the MediaRing Talk properties. Check with your Network Administrator or ISP if you are not sure. 6. If this does not solve your current problem, please send us your
system information in the form of the SYSDETAILS.TXT. To create it:
Open MediaRing Talk and click on the menu (inverted triangle next
to the help icon at the top of the MediaRing Talk software). Select
"About", click "System Info", click "Save" without changing the
filename and click "Save". Note where the file "sysdetails.txt"
is saved and attach it to this email.
If the mail is hate mail I will post the link in the message board. I am not sure how long it will last on there, but here is what the voice mail people say:
Your VoizMails are stored on our server for 10 days from the moment
it was send even when you delete the email, during that time you
can listen to it up to 30 times.
P.S.- If you dont want to read the thing above you basically need a microphone and a good sound chip thing or something.
