I hope tomorrow will be a fine day.
It never is.
Lane, you're a perfect pessimist.
I do my best to give satisfaction.
I mean, that's what life is, a series of down endings.
If you aren't remembered, your life never mattered to anyone but you.
We all take different paths in life, but no matter where we go, we take a little of each
other everywhere.
Did you ever feel like the whole world was going to a party and your invitation got lost
in the mail?
So many faces in and out of my life; some will last, some will be just now and then. Life
is a series of hellos and goodbyes. I'm afraid it's time for goodbye again.
I've got more than one membership to more than one club and I owe my life to the people
that I love.
Maybe you don't like your job, maybe you didn't get enough sleep, well nobody likes their
job, nobody got enough sleep. Maybe you just had the worst day of your life, but you know, there's
no escape, there's no excuse, so just suck it up and be nice.
Life just seems so full of connections. Most of the time we don't even pay attention to
the depth of life. We only see flat surfaces.
The true story is the realization that no time in your life is ever perfect, that even the
best memories have cracks you might not see.
It is always best to leave while you're still having fun.
Lately, it's occured to me what a long strange trip it's been.
It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
It is harder to live when those we love are dead.
Have a good time, make life cheerful and bright, dance if you want to, sing if you can,
play as long as you live and leave the world with a smile.
There were times in my life when I couldn't feel anything any more. Everything became too
much. I felt numb all the time. I couldn't feel happy or sad.
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things.
There's two kinds of tired: there's good tired and there's bad tired. . . Ironically
enough, bad tired can be a day that you won - but you won other peoples' battles, lived other
peoples' days, other peoples' agendas, other peoples' dreams, and when it's all over there is
very little you in there and when you hit the hay at night for some reason you toss and turn, you
don't settle easy. Good tired, ironically enough, can be a day that you lost - but you don't
even have to tell yourself 'cause you knew that you fought your battles, you chased your dreams,
you lived your days, and when you hit the hay at night, you settle easy, you sleep the sleep of
the just and you can say take me away.
Life is made up of tomorrows.
Life is a swirling eddy of despair in an ever blackening universe.
Life is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever
asks for. Unreturnable because all you ever get back is another box of chocolates, so you're
stuck with this unidentifiable whipped mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's
nothing left to eat. Sure, once in awhile there's a peanut butter cup or English toffee, but
they're gone too fast and the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits
filled with hardened jelly and teeth shattering nuts. If you're desperate enough to eat that,
all you have left is an empty box filled with useless brown paper wrappers.
You tell yourself to count the days and put up with the shit. You tell yourself these
people are illusions, passing scenery. They were nothing to me. I just used them for my art.
Most of all, I avoided the snares, skating past the obstacles. The way everybody who can manage
it does.
Be patient enough to live one day at a time, letting yesterday go and leaving tomorrow
until it arrives.
I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme,
and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having
to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen
next.
The struggle is my life.
People say that what we're seeking is a meaning for life. . . I think what we're really
seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical
plane will have resonance within our innermost being and reality, so that we can actually feel
the rapture of being alive.
We're too smart to watch TV, we're too dumb to make believe this all we want from life.
I'm so behind in life, I'll never catch up.
Most men lead lives of quiet desperation.
All you need in the world is love and laughter. That's all anybody needs. To have love
in one hand and laughter in the other.
Life's so simple when you don't know what you're talking about.
We are always getting ready to live, but never living.
All I need from anyone is love and respect, and anyone who can't give me that has no
business in my life.
Your life is an island separated from all other islands and continents. Regardless of how
many boats you send to other shores or how many ships arrive upon your shores, you yourself are
an island separated by its own pains, secluded in its happiness and far away in its compassion
and hidden in its secrets and mysteries.
Life is never perfect; it's never that bad, either. It just is.
Life is too wonderful for us to truly appreciate it.
Our life is what our thoughts make it.
Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of
men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure.
Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing.
I can't speak for others whom I don't know. All I know is that we all have our own journey.
My journey will be different from yours. We may cross paths in the future; we may not. I am not
going to tell anyone what their journey should be. Life has its ups and downs. It's how we
deal/cope with those events that gives us our character and lends empathy and sympathy to our
lives. I don't know all the answers. I only know what has worked for me and I am willing to
listen and help other people along their life's journeys.
Well, I know, of course, how important it is not to keep a business engagement, if one
wants to retain any sense of the beauty of life.
One must be serious about something if one wants to have any amusement in life. I happen
to be serious about Bunburying. What on earth you are serious about I haven't the remotest idea.
About everything, I should fancy. You have such an absolutely trivial nature.
Any life, no matter how long and complex it may be, is made up of a single moment - the
moment in which a man finds out, once and for all, who he is.
This was the life I was going to be living, everybody separated from everybody else,
hanging on for a moment, only to be washed away.
