The Sounds of Memphis Band....

This was a group that I played with which performed a variety of different types of music including, country, country swing, country rock, top-40 dance, 50s and 60s rock and roll, polkas, square dances and more! Members included: Keith, Rick, Dennis, Dave. Below the band photo, is a pic. of Keith, the leader and originator of the band, 'Country Tunes,' which later evolved into 'The Sounds Of Memphis Band.' Keith is an excellent drummer and singer indeed and it was a pleasure being apart of his band! Keith, also now resides back in upstate New York and There has already been a Memphis Band reunion. Go to the last photo page of this site to get new information on up-coming gig's and to view the new photos of the group....Welcome back Keith!

"The Dakota Band"

'The Dakota Band' Greg, Tommy, Rick, Ron and Sue. We were a variety band which included top forty country, country rock, country swing, rock-a-billy, oldies, polkas, classic country, more! This was one band that I played with in Arizona. These pic's were taken way out towards "old Tucson, Arizona." 'Old Tucson' is where they have filmed many of the old and new western movies and shows like the 'Young Riders.' We actually did go out to the desert to stand by a cactus for this pic. and we did not have to go far either! I think it was 110 degrees out that day. No-joke! Notice that we do not even cover half the size of the cactus! Fact: It takes approximately eighty years for one of the arms to grow on a cactus.... Here are a couple pic's....

The Dakota Band-Tucson!

"The John Hawk Band: Tucson~AZ."

This was 'the John Hawk band' that I also performed with in Tucson, Arizona. John also heads the 'John Hawk talent agency' well known around the Tucson area, which also gave me the chance to work with other groups as well. When John was not performing, he would get me gigs with other groups as a fill in bass player/singer. I first tried out for him at a hotel lounge he was performing at. We played top forty country as well as classic country and 50s and 60s rock and roll. John still resides in the Tucson area, plays country/blues and has a new c.d. out as well called "Bendin' the Fence." He has a couple of songs we used to do when we played together including a great original tune called "Desert Rain," a song about Tucson. Anyway, the pic. below is from the 'cotton woods' somewhere in the Tucson desert....

The John Hawk Band!

"The Silver Eagle Band: Tucson~AZ."

This was the 'Silver Eagle Band' that I also performed with in Tucson, Arizona. Basically me and Jim from the John Hawk band formed this together and this was a brief group that only lasted a few months before the rythm guitar player/singer Andy, moved to another area to start a horse-shoe buisiness. The woman pictured here used to come to the gigs alot and sat in often. I do not remember her name, but she had also performed professionally before in various groups and we were glad to include her in our act whenever possible! Anyway, we soon changed drummers and and added Dennis, a rythm guitar player/singer to form the group "Rodeo" which is posted below...

The Silver Eagle Band!

"The Rodeo Band: Tucson~AZ."

This was another group that I played with out in Tucson, Arizona called 'Rodeo.' This included from left to right, Rick on bass, Jeff on drums, Dennis on guitar and Jim on lead guitar. Jim is the best lead guitarist I have ever played with I might add! This was originally the 'Silver Eagle Band' Until one of the players left the state and we re-grouped and re-named the band. This was the last group that I performed with before moving back from Tucson to New York. We performed top forty country, country swing, country rock, 50s and 60s, blues and rock-a-billy....
