Grand Knight’s Letter August 2009 Dear Brothers, I am delighted to address you all as your new Grand Knight. I am humbled and honored to be chosen for this very important position and will do my best to ensure our Council continues to grow and prosper as it has under past administrations. Along with our newly elected officers, and all of our fellow Brother Knights, I hope to make my tenure a great success for our organization. First off, I would be remiss without mentioning the recent loss of our Past Grand Knight, Jack Cusack. Jack's passing was a terrible blow and his leadership and commitment to the Knights of Columbus will be greatly missed. Our condolences and prayers go out to his wife Nancy and the rest of Jack's family in their time of loss. I would like to send a special thanks to all our Brother Knights who attended the recent Catholic Conference in Monroe. Their participation in this important event was in the best tradition of our Council. Also, a special thank you to all our Brother Knights who pitched in to help at the Great American Weekend in Goshen. Their assistance helped to ensure a profitable weekend of taco sales. Please mark your calendars for the St. John's annual Labor Day Picnic at Craigville Park on Monday September 7th. Tickets can be purchased at St. John's after each mass. As always, we will need volunteers to help make sure this event is a success. Our next meeting will be on Monday, September 14th, under the church rectory. I encourage all members to make every effort to attend and actively participate. Your input is important to the success of our Council. In closing, I hope the rest of your summer is happy, healthy, and safe. Please keep the sick and suffering of our community in your prayers, and please remember our troops serving at home and abroad to ensure our American way of life. Sincerely, Lee Quaranta Grand Knight
