"Do You Hear What I Hear?"
By Lyn

(Sung to the tune of "Do You Hear What I Hear?")

Said the Great Spirit to the eagle, high
Do you see what I see?
Traveling on his way, eagle, high?
Do you see what I see?
A man, a man, riding through the land
With a smile as big as the plains?
With a smile as big as the plains.

Said the Great Spirit to the grasses, tall,
Do you hear what I hear?
Ringing through the air, grasses, tall?
Do you hear what I hear?
A laugh, a laugh, ringing through the air,
With a voice as clear as a bell?
With a voice as clear as a bell.

Said the Great Spirit to the running horse,
Do you know what I know?
As you travel on your way, running horse?
Do you know what I know?
You’re rider, you’re rider shivers in the cold,
As he brings us letters and post.
As he brings us letters and post.

Said the Great Spirit to people everywhere,
Listen to what I say!
Pray for peace, people everywhere!
Listen to what I say!
The rider, the rider, living ‘mongst the whites,
He is made of goodness and light.
He is made of goodness and light.
