20 QUESTIONS WITH...

Welcome to a new feature on MetalSludge... uh I mean Where's Grant?.com called 20 Questions. OK, so we lifted an idea from another cool website called MetalSludge.com... at least we're big enough to give credit wjere credit is due. Each week MetalSludge (soon to be showcased as a "Link of The Week) does 20 questions with ex-rock star from washed up, hair band, the 80's like Warrant, Danger Danger (?? ??) & RATT. The questions range from "Does it suck to go from playing in front of 5,000 to 50?" to "Do you use Rogaine or Propecia?" We thought it would be fun to put our loyal fans/friends to the same treatment.

1. 1.What are your full names and when were you both born?
Karen Ann Teig 8-28-75
Kristen Jennifer Rachel Macauley, 8/29/75

2. How/when did you first meet?
Karen:I think it was 1988- 8th grade.
Kristen: In 8th grade, thru a friend, who we don't talk to anymore.

3. Is Karen more mature because she a day older?
Karen: Yes, I am a day older and wiser, and I am definitely more mature.
Kristen: She likes to think so....

4. How long have you been coming to Where's Grant shows? Did someone pay you to come or was it on your own volition?
Karen We've been coming to see you guys for a little over a year. John N. didn't pay us, but he did beg and plead a little.
Kristen: Ditto...

5. Who are your Favorite signed bands and artists:
Karen: Right now- Linkin Park is definitely my fav. Also: Godsmack, Eve6, STP, Bjork, Papa Roach, Blink 182, 311.
Kristen: Linkin Park, Godsmack, 311, Toadies, Save Ferris, Goldfinger, Incubus, Bjork, Pantera, Misfits, STP, Ramones, Lucious Jackson

6. On a scale of 1-10 (1 being min, 10 being max) how much did of a stretch was "Where's Grant?"s cover of "Head Like A Hole" from NIN? (In other words... did it suck?)
Karen:I'd give it an 8, I thought it was pretty good. How can you go wrong w/ NIN?
Kristen: 8, not bad

7. What are your favorite "Where's Grant?" covers?
Karen:One Step Closer- Linkin Park- Oh, wait-my mistake, you don't do play that!....
Eve6- "Promise", Green Day- "Minority", Cake- "I Will Survive", 3 Doors Down- "Kryptonite", Last Resort- P Roach, Whatever- "Godsmack", "Here In Your Bedroom "Goldfinger, L Bizkit- "BreakStuff", "Jump Around"- House of Pain- and "Blister In The Sun"- V Femmes- Haha: Grant 'we don't play that song' Kikkert
Kristen: Anything by Goldfinger, Last Resort, Damnit, Disconnected, Jump Around, Super Bon Bon, One Step Closer...oh right, you haven't done that one yet!

8. In the past year, what's the longest you two went without seeing/speaking to each other?
Karen: I think it was about a week and a half- I was traveling in Europe.
Kristen: About a week and 1/2

9.If we stole your purse(s) what would we find?
Karen:Well, since Grant almost walked off w/ mine @ the Trailside... Here's the list: wallet, lipstick, nail file, handcuffs, perfume, cell phone, cigs/lighter, and a pen :)
Kristen: Cell phone, Kenneth Cole shades and wallet, Hello Kitty pen, Swiss Army Knife, ticket stub from "Dude Where's My Car?"

10. You both claim to not eat meat. Do you consider yourselves vegiatrian or vegans? What's the difference? Do you get nausaus or angry when people eat a juicy Bacon Cheeseburger at The Goshen Diner after a gig, right in front of you? (answer as a team or seperate)
Karen:We are both vegetarians. Vegans do not eat any animal products at all: honey, eggs, dairy, etc. When someone eats meat we just ignore it. It doesnt make us nauseous unless someone sticks it our face and says Mmm, meat.
Kristen: We're vegetarians...it doesn't make us sick unless someone sticks it in our faces and says "mmm meat" or "moooo".

11. When you were growing up what posters did you have on your walls?
Karen:Do I really have to answer? My wallpaper, er, posters included: Def Leppard & Joe Elliot, GNR, Metallica, LA Guns, Winger, Warrant, RATT, Iron Maiden, Faster Pussycat, Zakk Wylde w/ Ozzy... it was bad! (No Trixter? It wasn't all bad.)
Kristen: Anthrax, Skid Row, Megadeath, Motley Crue, Faster Pussycat.... you get the picture (uh, yeah. NO PATRICK SWAYZE???)

12. Out of the following which do you prefer? (Answer together or seperate)

  13. How do you feel about the following statement:".... deer hunting is good for nature for several reasons. It helps thin the population cause if you let the deer population get too big, there won't be enough food for all the deer.   Karen:One word= Darwinism
  Kristen: Oh, please! Does anything that hick has to say even deserve an intelligent response? For the sake of everyone who might read this, I won't even get started!

  14. Has Rob Tito ever spoken a word to either of you before?
  Karen: Well, I could list the times I’ve spoken to him on one hand. And that’s if you count him bumming a cig as a conversation :) He even ran in the other direction when we were first introduced (Me & Kris)! Should I be taking this personally?!!? Is Rob friendly to anyone??!!?
  Kristen: Hmmm, the first time we were introduced, he ran the other way, does that count?

  15. Be honest! Did you ever frequent "The Village Cafe" in Monroe? If so, did your acid wash jeans zip up the front, the back or above the boot.
  Karen:Yes- but we did not wear acid wash jeans by the time we were 21.
  Kristen: Oh yes the Cafe...such fond memories of grinding to "Yeahhhh Baby I Like it Like That"... I believe if you go to AJ's you can still see a few brave souls in acid wash jeans.

  16. What is your favorite "Where's Grant?" gig or experience?
  Karen:There is usually always some drama at a WG show. Bit I guess it is a toss up between the Rob intro and the first time we saw WG. I didn’t know who anyone was and before they played, I asked Holly, Amber and Gary if these guys were any good. They told me they were not that good and that the singer really sucked :)
  Kristen: Trailside, late August... I'll leave it at that.
