...And on this day... (um) well, three days ago in history!
"A WG B-lated Tribute"

September 21st, 1971 is a great day in entertainment history. There are many, many famous entertainers born on this date. Country singer Faith Hill, actor Rob Morrow ("Northern Exposure", "Quiz Show"), actress Nancy Travis ("So I Married An Axe Murderer"). Even the "King of Comedy", Saturday Night Live's Bill Murray shares this same day of birth. But no other entertainer has had a deeper impact on our generation than actor... Alfonso Riberio .

Yup... Pop Superstar Alfonso on "Silver Spoons" and the stuffy Carlton from the "Fresh Prince" breakdanced his way into this world from his momma's womb on this day. Most noted for playing second banana to overblown childstar ego's, Alfonso's roles ruled the 8pm -8:30pm NBC slot from 1984-1996

    Some curious trivia
  • Height 5' 5"
  • Ribeiro began his career when he debuted on the PBS show "Oye Ollie."
  • At the age of 10 Ribeiro dabbled as a musician, releasing singles such as "Dance Baby," "Not Too Young (To Fall In Love)", "Sneak Away With Me" and "Time Bomb".
  • After getting the starring role in the Broadway musical "The Tap Dance Kid" Ribeiro was spotted by Michael Jackson who cast him in one of the singer's many Pepsi commercials of that decade.
  • There was a rumor that he died in the 80s while doing a head spin, but he was confused with a breakdancing boy in a Pepsi commercial who did die.
  • The web authority on what is cool and uncool with 80's television, Jump The Shark shows a tie between Alfonso and the appearance of Menudo on the show as the reason Silver Spoons jumped the shark.

Believe it or not... there are two other births on that same day that is important to the entertainment world (or at least the world of WG) and that is our friends Jennie Lynn & Brother Bob.

These two come out to almost all of our shows (like they have a choice), take lots of pictures at our shows and barely ever complain when we don't play "What's My Age Again" for them. Plus they bring their friends to our gigs too. Anyway we're just glad they come out to see us. The next time you're at one of our gigs wish both of them a very Happy Belated B-day!!!

Happy Belated Birthday Bobby & Jennie!!!!
