Rob Johnson, playing in his first postseason game ever, comes out and hits Andre Reed over the middle in the first quarter and Reed breaks one tackle and dashes all the way 65 yards for the score. Johnson, for the day, passes for 310 yards and three touchdown passes.
Wade came out for his press conference sporting an Elvis outfit and plays "Don't step on my blue suede shoes." He steps up to the microphone with a big smile on his face.
"I really feel at home down here in Nashville! The music, the aura of this city, the people in general. This has been a really great time down here. I love hillbilly music. I could Hee Haw with the best of them," Wade says sounding exactly like Hank Hill of 'King of the Hill.'
"I made a gutsy call when I decided to start Rob at quarterback today - I must be going through a mid-life crisis! But he made the decision easy with his play last week against the Colts. If I had decided to stick with Doug, I would have had to listen to Chuck Dickerson and all the rest of his Disciples rip me to shreds all week. With Rob playing as outstanding as he did, it was a no brains decision. Yes, even I realized that the move had to be made.
"Rob continued to impress me with his play today. Passing for 310 yards and three touchdowns was simply amazing against a team like the Titans. I will have to think about who will be my No. 1 guy next year. I have to sooth Doug's ruffled feathers. He really took the benching hard! Doug could be heard crying throughout the locker room for 2 hours after my decision. I gave him a little blue Smurf outfit as an award for the great effort he has put forth the past two years and that brightened up his spirits tremendously. Doug hopped right into the blue outfit and was smiling like a little boy afterwards. He even played two pickup basketball games wearing the Smurf suit. Doug was so high that he made a slam dunk! Can you imagine that?"
