Autumn Poems

October

October's the month
When the smallest breeze
Gives us a shower
Of autumn leaves
Bonfires and pumpkins,
Leaves sailing down -
October is red
And golden and brown.

The Sweetest Day

by Amy Miller

October 16th, the Sweetest Day of the Year
A time to give thanks to those you cherish dear
A time to remember the good times you've had
When you've been all smiles and he was so glad.

It's a time to recall events of the past
He was there to listen, when you were downcast.
Be thankful you had a "Sweet One" to talk to
When times were rough, he saw you through.

On this October 16th, be very kind to your "precious"
Do something extra nice
Make him a pie or buy him a meal
And don't worry about the price.

Who else but your "Sweet One" is always there
To take care when you're sick
Bringing you aspirin and soup
Taking your temperature double quick

Remember your "Sweet One" with lots of love
While recalling the year that just flew by
For now you are happy, enjoying your life
Give yourselves a big hand and breathe a big sigh

Now you have many more sweet days to come
As the years progress one by one
Give your "Sweet One" a big hug and a kiss
Look toward the future, I know you can't miss!
