Fall Crafts

Fall Bouquet

Materials Needed:
Fall leaves, pincones, etc.
Popsicle sticks
Hot glue gun or craft glue
Styrofoam ball or clay
Flower pot
Fall colored ribbon (optional)

Collect materials for your bouquet by taking walks,
collecting glorious leaves and pinecones, etc.

Bake it all for 45 min at 200 degrees to kill any
insects and eggs.

Use the hot glue gun or craft glue to attach the
leaves, seeds, pinecones, etc, to the ends of
popsicle sticks. If you use craft glue, let them dry.

Put the styrofoam ball or large lump of clay in
the bottom of the flower pot.

Stick the ends of the popsicle sticks into the
styrofoam or clay to make your autumn leave bouquet

Tie the optional ribbon around the pot with a big bow

FALL TREE CRAFT

There are 3 variations on this craft depending on
which templates you print and how messy you want to
get. You can either:

print the Trunk and decorate with "handprint"
leaves (fingerpaint)

print the Leaves and decorate a "homemade" trunk
(to make the trunk, trace your child's arm from
the elbow up, including the fingers)

print the Trunk and the Leaves and paste them together.

If that isn't enough for you, you can also go
outside and collect real fall leaves and paste
those on.

Materials you will need are:
a printer,
paper (I prefer construction paper or another
heavier paper),
scissors,
glue,
and something to colour with.
You will also need fingerpaints if you choose
the first option.

Print out the template of choice.

Colour pieces, as necessary. (For a change of
pace, try using different mediums than you
typically do, such as paints or pastels).
Pastels smudged make really nice fall leaves!

Cut out the pieces. This step may require adult
assistance. Don't worry too much about getting
the tree branches cut out perfectly. We'll
cover any remaining white space with leaves.

Glue template pieces together or make handprint
leaves, depending on the alternative you chose.

You can glue the entire tree to a decorated
background (blue construction paper, with
green tissue paper for grass and white
cotton balls for clouds works very nicely!)
