Fall Crafts

Pumpkin Pin

Another idea is to take a small ring (found in
craft stores- the ones used with leather) and
take some orange yarn cut into small sections
and attach it to the ring with a simple knot.
You do this all the way around the ring and at
the top you use green yarn knotted on the same
way for a pumpkin stem. Attach wiggle eyes to
the front and a pin to the back and you have a
pumpkin pin. I can get more specific instructions
for you on this if you like the idea. Just let me
know. When we made these we used two short lengths
together per knot. That way it covered the ring
better. This may not make sense, but I can explain
better if I had the instructions in front of me.

SCARECROW CRAFT

Here's another craft for multiple occasions!
"Dana" told me that her daughter is a big fan
of the Wizard of Oz so I originally put the
scarecrow together for her. But as I was
working on it, I discovered that July, 2000
is the 100th Anniversary of the story (not the
movie). Wow, Dorothy's aged well!

The scarecrow also makes an excellent fall project.

Materials you will need are a toilet paper roll,
printer, paper (I prefer construction paper or
another heavier paper), scissors, glue, and
something to color with.

Print out the template of choice.

Scarecrow

Color pieces, as necessary.

Cut out the pieces. This step may require adult
assistance.

Glue the large rectangle onto the tp roll.

Glue on the head, arms, legs and body patch.

If you want to get a bit more creative, you can glue
on some tufts of raffia or dried grass as straw.

Set your page margins to zero before printing to
ensure the template fits on the page (FILE, PAGE
SETUP on most browsers.)
