This was one of the best birthdays I've ever had this year. My mom got two hotel rooms at the Hilton, right across the street from the Nederlander. I was staying in one room with 4 of closest friends(Jessie, Elise, Becca, and Carly) and we got into the city early and went to the village to shop around. We only had time enough to go to one store, LOL, so then we went to Mali's apartment and I picked up a bootleg of Darryl's first show back, and then we hopped the subway back to times square, we got there just as they were letting out at RENT. We waited and waited, and still no Darryl. It was about 5:30pm, and the doors open and no one else but the one and only Darryl comes walking out. I almost jumped on him, i literally stood on the street hugging him for a good two minutes. He was really sweet, and we talked for like 10 minutes, and then he went out to get some dinner and said he'd see me at the show. Lotto was packed! But luckily two of us won, and we got an extra ticket through someone else. So we were all in. The show was awesome, they were running really low on swings, there were 7 understudies on, and Darryl was Mr. Jefferson! Along with this usual roll. He was really cute! The show was so awesome! After the show we waited and waited and he was the last to come out, and we said hi, talked for a little, and then said good bye. We went back to the hotel room for a little, and then went to the Stardust Diner.
Ok, the 14th, my birthday!!! Lotto was DEAD! D-E-A-D! 5 of us ended up winning. We went up to the hotel room after and changed out of our pj's. We went down an hour early and waited for people. Only understudies were Chad as Roger and Dean as Gordon. Darryl came in with Dean, Jai, and Yaz. We said hi and they all wished me a happy birthday, and i got a big hug from Darryl =) Then we went in and took our seats. The show was fabulous. Chad was amazing as Roger, and at bows Dean mouthed 'Happy Birthday!' to me! I brought one of those signed posters because i had money burning a hole in my pocket :) I saw one of my friends from school there as well. We then went right over to Applebees where Darryl said he'd meet us after collecting.
Sure enough he came 10 minutes later, but it seemed like an eternity until then, we kept looking towards the door to see if he had come yet. It was insane! Then finally he showed up! He took a seat next to me and it all began. It was so much more comfortable this time just hanging and talking with him than it was in October, I was so much less nervous. He was totally sweet and so awesome. We just talked and talked. Then our food came and we ate, and ate. When the Applebees people came out and started singing he sang along with them. Haha. Time Flies... Time Dies... It was all over! He gave me one more humungous hug and hugged everyone else, and we walked down together and he went off to go get his motorcycle and we walked to the car.
It was so awesome!!!! One of the best weekends of my life and I will never forget it! Thank you Darryl!!! I will always be your biggest fan and always love you tons!!! This was the story of one of the best weekends of my life and I hope you enjoyed it, NOW onto the pictures!
