Welcome to the
GRATITUDE LIST

There are so many people to whom I'm grateful. I just wanted to make it official...

Mom and Dad: Thank you for giving me life, giving me love, and basically accepting me though I do things you don't agree with. Thank you for all the hot meals, for giving me a place to live when times were tough, and for understanding that, though we'll probably never understand each other, I will always love you in my screwed up way.

Kristie: My baby sister...I love you so much and I always will. You inspire me to be a better person every day of my life, and you give me strength when I have none of my own. Thank you for the tough love that's kept me healthy for over two years now, and thank you for threatening to kick the asses of everyone who pisses me off. Thanx for listening to my poetry even though you hate it. I love you, grrl...rock on with your bad self!

Jessica Fantastic: My Jessykins! Thank you for being the most wonderful and supportive friend a grrl could have! Thank you for sharing so many things with me: your strength, your wonderful writing, your doggie Arthur (my canine nephew), tables at the cafeteria, Scrabble-fests (yes, I am the reigning Queen!) and so much more. Thank you for helping me to remember that I'm not an evil wench from hell (most days), and thank you for sharing my secrets...I am never afraid to be myself with you, and that is a gift beyond all calculation. I adore you! You are fantastic!

Maureen: Goddamn it, grrl, I miss you; come home! Thanx for saving my life more than once, thanx for loving me when everyone else didn't, thanx for believing in me, and thanx for a million gifts I can't describe in any language, my anam cara.

The Muses: I feel I need to thank everyone who has taken my heart at one time or another, and either given it back, abused it, or broken it.The following have given me the subject matter for my writing: Nick, Ross, Danton, Flambeaux, Arthur the Evil Impregnator (not Jessica's dog, thank you!!!), Jared, Chris, Rob (for the opiates that gave birth to Uncaged back when I was a bad grrl...now I'm merely drawn that way) and the Pretty When You're Drunk Asshole. You have all taken the term "muse" to a wholly new level.

Dakota James: My beautiful and perfect nephew...I never knew love at first sight until I saw you...and you flipped me the Bird after you'd been on this earth a mere half an hour...like auntie, like nephew! I dreamed of you before you were born, and waited with bated breath for your arrival. You are the living promise of springtime in a cold winter for me. I want you to know now, and for the rest of your life, that your Auntie Kathleen loves you, and will always be there to help, fix, protect, listen, or just hug you any time you need it.

John G: For being a steadfast friend, for loving and accepting me no matter what, for calling me on my shit, and for sharing my secrets with only me.

Elyse: My second Mommy, who so graciously accepted me into her heart...for teaching me how to be a strong woman, for so honestly sharing your experiences in this life with me, for being my constant cheerleader, and for calling me your angel...I will always love you.

The Musicians: I'll never meet any of these people, but I want to thank them for the music that keeps me going: The Amazing Ms. Ani DiFranco, Fiona Apple, Ed from Live, Morrissey, The Smiths, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Sheryl Crow, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, Susan McKeown, Solas, Mozart, Vivaldi, Bach, Beethoven, Carl Orff, Nina Simone, Ella Fitzgerald, Billie Holiday, Alanis Morrisette, all the 80's Cheeze-Rockers I grew up listening to, and about a thousand more!

Kevin Smith: For some of my favourite movies....thank you.

Marlboro and Newport: You murderous bastards, I don't know what I'd do without my Light 100s.

Ortho Tri-Cyclen: Infertility rocks!!!

The Poets: Thank you for inspiring me...this goes out to every poet...published, web-published, unpublished...thank you.

The Pets: Thank you for loving your crazy Mommy like you do.

And last but certainly not least, The Gracious Goddess and her consort, The Gentle God: For all their love, protection, and many gifts in my life...long live the Old Religion!
