Overpasses in this densely bridged section of the BQE operate on the buddy system. Queens Blvd and 65th Place hold hands, as do 41st Avenue and 70th Street. The third couple of lovebird bridges are Woodside Avenue and 69th Street. The 69th Street span, viewed from Woodside Avenue, is a strange looking affair. It's the only one in this group with a total concrete facade and art-deco-like turrets bookending the railing. It is also not a straight span. 69th Street is coming towards Woodside Avenue on a slant, parallel to 70th Street. The southern facade of the overpass, however, is parallel with Woodside and sports a little garden in the triangle between it's railing and 69th. Shot in the spring 1998.
