Welcome to my
world of Linux! I have been working with computer for 8 years. The first
computer experience I had was with the Commodore 64 system. I started learning
GW basic programming in 1994 - 1996 when I studied for my G.E.D. diploma.
My first learned about Linux from a friend who custom built computers by order.
At that time you had to be a IT Professional to handle the strain or the main
stream Unix commands.
There are many different distributions of Linux in the computer world and for
those of you that are beginners, I would advise you to start with one of the
most commonly used distributions. My first choice is Redhat and my second is
Mandrake. Now you don't have to worry about language support because the makers
thought about you and others in the world. Both distributions mentioned above
have their software in almost all the main stream languages.
I have worked with both Mandrake and Redhat
and have had trouble with both. you can find more information about the
distributions by using the links from the menu on the left.
