From a very young age I have been given the tools that ultimately set me on the course to becoming a robotic engineer. My toys were always some type of basic robot, electronic or electrical device. I therefore thank my mother for guiding me to becoming what I am today. I have already obtained my degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and Computer Engineering Technology. I have been working on a number of project that have only strengthen my knowledge in micro-controllers and asynchronous sensing systems. The very first robot that I have studied was the OWI-962K. The company OWI have designed and manufactured a number of other robotic kits. This kit interested me because it used legs rather than wheels.     The New York City College of Technology is only one of the colleges that is engaged in the construction and programming of a Micro-mouse robot. The Micro-mouse robotic competition is one that is held every year for colleges that want to earn knowledge and experience with computer controlled systems in a robotic environment. I was able to work with one of these Micro-mouse robots and it involves an understanding of electronics, computer architecture and some type of problem solving (programming). The basic stamp is a micro-controller that carries a number I/O lines that allow you to connect IR sensors for sight, ultrasonic transducers, microphones, and servos.
